“Columbia Gorgeous”. Multnomah Falls is great and all, but what lies behind and up above is quite the experience. This was Coco’s longest distance and most elevation gain of a hike that he has ever done, and I’m very proud of him… as if he was even challenged. The great outdoors is very great. Thank you, God.

13 years later… and this time I came out ON TOP! I couldn’t have asked for a better climbing partner than my awesome brother, Noah. There are so many things I could say about this day and the whole experience in general, but what I will say is that this was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m so glad I did it and that I was encouraged and pushed by Noah to keep going up that mountain.

Perseverance, determination, sweat, tears, muscle cramps, dehydration, burning eyes, sun burnt lips, … relief, jubilation, satisfaction, accomplishment, thankfulness.

There’s something really cool and obviously nostalgic about exploring your hometown in areas you haven’t really experienced, especially on foot. Waking up at 5:30 AM and doing this morning walk/hike was such a beautiful way to spend my Saturday morning last weekend. Definitely made me miss being a kid 🥲

And to think this was all burnt to a crisp in 2017… how far all the regrowth has come, to look the way it does now is truly amazing. This was such fun and tiring experience, getting to see so many cool waterfalls with my hiking buddy brother!

Got to do the thing I love most with the person I love most! This nice 2 mile hike was very relaxing and beautiful, the two things that you want in any trail/hike, really. I’m glad I did a shorter one on my birthday, because having time in the day to spend with Jessie was priceless.

Felt like crossing the Bridge of the Gods today. This was the first hike I’ve done that had me crossing state lines, and it was cool to get a glimpse of the experience that PCT thru hikers get when they finish Oregon and begin Washington. This hike had a lot of different terrain, including some very rocky and uneven sections, so my feet are very sore. All things considered, this was probably one of my favorite hikes that I’ve done.

Starting things off on this account with a beautiful hike in the wonderful and relaxing Forest Park! A fun fact about Forest Park is that it is the largest park within city limits of a major city in the USA. I gave this hike 4 out of 5 stars only because pretty much all of it looked the same and there weren’t any good views, but other than that it was all around a great trail!
