Over a decade ago I was given a large vacuum formed plastic mould that friends had found in the garbage of a fabricator they were working with. I pulled the form out of a pile of treasures at the margin of my parent’s backyard to attempt a series of paper maché works earlier this summer but say that a spider had already taken residence in the form. I sat on my hands and found other things today and today i saw this exquisite little structure and laughed because spiders are way cool. by @silkepuu

I was going to show this at @systema.plus a few years ago but then decided to bring 40 kg of random paper and make a fresh work on site. Reflecting honestly, that was a stupid and idiotic idea. by @silkepuu

Let me begin by saying that my parents have an apple and they pick it early before the bugs and birds and bears can get their crop. I general they make a lot of apple sauce but tbh i dont like apple sauce and find eating it a chore.

For this recipe you get to kill two disappoitments with one stone.

The other weird inversely absurd apple thing is the caramel apple. Maybe some people enjoy the intense vertical juxtapositions of caramel and hard green apple but if you are also the kind of person who doesn’t, welcome aboard.

Recipe

Apples

3/4 inch drill bit

Filling

8 parts dates (pitted)
2 to 4 parts butter
1 to 3 parts brown sugar
1 to 2 parts cinnamon

250 grams of dates will fill about 16 apples

Mince ingredients until they form a uniform goop.

Fill drilled cavity

Bake at 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit for 30 to 45 minutes or until the skins begin to tear.

TO SERVE : bake small bowls of pie crust place apple and ice cream inside the bowl. by @silkepuu
