POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last week, for the first time in months or maybe even the first time this year, I was finally able to enjoy the meditative quiet in my mind I get from cycling.
•
Just my legs going round, following my route and enjoying the beautiful nature in Vendée. Not pondering my life, my health, my me...
•
I was even singing out loud, and that doesn't happen very often. Okay, granted, I was singing "Crash Land" all day long but still... Baby steps!

Here's a repost of what I wrote in my stories about last Sunday.
Just as a reminder to myself that bad days happen, but I'll always recover. Eyes ahead and onto better days 💪🏼

Did you know Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) was number one in the charts just 1 week after Little Miss Blue hit the roads for the first time?
•
Coincidence? Don't think so!
•
First time using my @retropiacam Oreo lens with their Lightroom film presets. Absolutely love the vibe for this car!

In Belgium we have a saying "zot zijn doet geen zeer" which translates to "it doesn't hurt to be crazy". Well except when you almost slip getting back up I guess...
•
Day 4/4 of doing cold plunges in the snow and my longest one so far.
•
Yesterday the cat was just curious, today he was protesting my shenanigans 😂

Some of my highs and lows of 2025...
Even this list isn't complete. Some things I left out on purpose, others I forgot to include.
•
The songs on each slide either pulled me through those experiences, represent how I felt at the time or how I look back at that moment as I write this down now.
•
If something I wrote feels familiar, if any of the songs speak to you or if you ever need to just talk about anything mental health related, message me at any time!
You are not alone.
•
(I made a playlist of these songs if you want to listen along, let me know and I'll send you a link)

Beast of Bramsche 2026 - here I come!
•
In June 2024 I took part in this amazing event in the German Osnabrückerland / Teutoburger Wald: a bike ride of 240km - 24 climbs - 2400m altitude.
•
Quite the challenge in itself, and on top of that I got food poisoning just 3 weeks before, missed out on another big ride and the most important part of my training.
•
The 6am group start was incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, the day started out cold and wet but the sun came out soon enough.
•
In the end I crossed the finish line as one of the last participants at 17:48. That’s 18 minutes later than the official cut-off time, but my goal was to finish and I made it!
•
Since then, I’ve gotten a lot stronger on the bike, perfected my fueling plan, and done a lot more long-distance riding.
•
I look forward to going back in 2026 and seeing how my new-and-improved self stacks up against 2024-me.

Throwback to summer 🌞
•
I doubled back to take a picture of this cute little guy because he reminded me of the Cars movie 😎
•
Of course I also forgot to post all of my other photos from cycling in France so I'll try to share those soon 😇

My spin on the classic whisky highball 🤤
•
Traditionally a pairing of whisky and ginger ale served in a long drink glass (or "highball glass").
•
I went for a lovely vintage @caolila.distillery single cask with @gimber_drink topped off with sparkling water.
•
You'll have to forgive the tumbler, I couldn't find a highball glass 😅
•
Now I'll have to figure out the proportions 'cause I poured this one straight from the bottles into the glass 😂

Spent a good part of this evening polishing a nasty scratch on the roof of this gorgeous A310. Working on beautiful machinery is always a pleasure 😍
•
What @micksantifort and I both thought would be a quick 15-min polish took well over 1,5hrs and I only got about 95% of it out.
•
Looks 10x better than before so job well done anyway 😎😇 thanks for trusting me with your car, Mick!

Probably one of my favourite photos from a week of cycling through Normandy and Val de Loire.
•
I'm not the biggest fan of colour vs BW comparisons but I'm really undecided here. Leaning towards BW but I also like the UFO popping some colour. I don't like how the green from the forest distracts from the subject though.
Your thoughts?
