The School of Nursing invites our community to celebrate Health Workforce Well-Being Day on March 18, 2026! As an inaugural member of the National Academy of Medicine’s Change Maker initiative, led by Dr. Sonya Cox, we’re committed to strengthening well-being across the healthcare workforce.

The Dotson Bridge & Mentoring Center’s annual Lectureship event is just around the corner, and all are invited to attend! This year’s guest speaker is Tiffany Gibson, a successful businesswoman, founder of the New Nurse Academy, and a leader in the nursing community. She will be discussing “The Art of Emotional Intelligence”, exploring how psychological awareness plays a role in career growth. The seminar will take place in the Linda K. Paresky Center and a streaming option will also be available for remote participants. Learn more about her journey and share fresh ideas on achieving professional and personal fulfillment. We hope to see everyone there on Wednesday, February 25th, 4:00-6:30pm.

Huge shoutout to everyone from Simmons University School of Nursing who volunteered in the Boston Green Academy Sports Preparticipation Exams! 🏃‍♀️💙

Your compassion, professionalism, and teamwork helped complete 52 physicals during this event, breaking barriers for student-athletes and making sure they’re ready to safely hit the field this season.

🎉 Congratulations to BSN student Gabriela Tarantini!
Gabriela was recently awarded a scholarship at the New England Minority Nurse Leadership Conference (NEMNLC) for her incredible commitment to health equity and community service.

A first-generation Latina nursing student, Gabriela is passionate about caring for underserved communities. She works as a medical assistant at MGH and NeighborHealth in East Boston and continues to lead with compassion both in and beyond the classroom.

Gabriela shared: This recognition reminds me that my journey matters and inspires me to keep empowering underserved communities and mentoring young Hispanic women in healthcare.
