Now that I’ve turned 24, I’m selling my DJ decks and picking up a keyboard. Yes I decided I’m retiring from DJing (it’s been a great 4 month DJ career fr).

Meet @simon_spx at the intersection of the divine and the wired. Simon is a producer and vocalist based in Dubai, and Simon spx is his passion project. Inspired by the intricate sound design of artists like Crystal Castles, SOPHIE, and Arca, he creates progressive electro-pop rooted in electro-clash, witch house, and hyperpop. His tracks move through the chaos of modern relationships in a hyper-digital world, chasing release through excess and feeling.

The arts remain a space for resistance as they do not create utilitarian value, which contradicts late stage capitalism. Oftentimes, electronic music is overlooked as a conduit for storytelling and the preservation of culture. However, electronic music isn’t just about hedonism, and the spaces in which this music exists allow people to connect and express themselves without judgment… Is something I would sing about if I was woke and pretentious but all I have to say instead is “Don’t stop, just dance”😝 taken in Glasgow, Scotland by @simon_spx
