Join us this fall at The Warehouse!

Opening September 26 and on view through January 30, 2027, two new exhibitions consider the body, identity, and the boundaries that shape how we understand ourselves and one another.

𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘳𝘵

Bringing together works by more than seventy-five artists, 𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 considers the vulnerabilities and contradictions of the human body. Across generations, geographies, and media, the exhibition looks to the figure as a site of identity, psychology, consciousness, and transformation.

At a moment when rapidly evolving technologies continue to complicate our understanding of what it means to be human, 𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 returns to the material body in all its imperfection: fragile, mutable, flawed, and ultimately hopeful.

The sixth iteration of The Warehouse’s single-artist exhibition series presents the work of Japanese artist Yukinori Yanagi (@yanagiyukinori) whose practice has spent decades interrogating borders, national identity, and the symbols through which ideas of belonging are constructed.

From ant farms in which national flags slowly dissolve as living colonies move through colored sand to earthworks connecting historically charged sites across continents, Yanagi creates systems that are precise in their construction yet ultimately surrendered to forces beyond the artist’s control. The exhibition traces a practice grounded in movement and permeability, asking what remains when seemingly fixed boundaries begin to break apart.

So grateful for this gorgeous book, hot off the press from @karmakarma9 and @karmabookstore. Conceived as like a “wordless novel,” it documents my spring exhibition at @aspenartmuseum, with a coda featuring my current work at @mca_denver.

Huge thanks to AAM director @nicolaleesm and my curators @danielmerritt and @simonemkrug for their brilliant and generous forwards and text, and everyone at Aspen Art Museum and Karma who made this book possible. Special shoutouts to my incredible Karma director @clemonstrr, and the genius designer @davidschoerner!

There are 300 special edition copies, including 250 signed. I’ll also be signing books tomorrow at the @a_r_t_c_r_u_s_h brunch at 10 a.m.

Someone remind me — what didn’t I do this year?!

LA full time in June, little baby arriving in July, and some documentation from our Mexico City engagement in Feb and extremely impromptu civil ceremony in March. Excited to stay on with the Aspen Art Museum as a Curator at Large too.

Still thinking about our time based media exhibition Mountain / Time, and what an honor it was to work with @chrrrissie and @anisa.jackson on bringing this ambitious museum-wide exhibition to life, in the galleries, in theaters throughout the valley, in a disused silver mine, and in an Aspen tree grove.

The show explored re-mapping, storytelling, archival research, science fiction, collage, dance, music, and the intertwined histories of the mountains and their ecological systems. 🏔 / ❤️ taken in Aspen Art Museum by @simonemkrug
