Keeping printed matter related to art alive is no simple task, but that matter matters so much.

We’re honored to be featured on the cover of Patron Magazine’s 15-year anniversary issue.

Since our first visit to Dallas in 2015, Patron has been a guide to understanding the art scene in North Texas. We read it when we’re there, and we read it when we’re not.

Congratulations, Patron! Here’s to the next 15.

Opening tomorrow at The Warehouse: 𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘳𝘵.

Bringing together works by more than seventy-five artists, the exhibition looks at the human form as a window into identity, psychology, and consciousness. Join us this fall at The Warehouse!

Opening September 26 and on view through January 30, 2027, two new exhibitions consider the body, identity, and the boundaries that shape how we understand ourselves and one another.

𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘳𝘵
Curated by Simone Krug (@simonemkrug)

Bringing together works by more than seventy-five artists, 𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 considers the vulnerabilities and contradictions of the human body. Across generations, geographies, and media, the exhibition looks to the figure as a site of identity, psychology, consciousness, and transformation.

At a moment when rapidly evolving technologies continue to complicate our understanding of what it means to be human, 𝘐𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 returns to the material body in all its imperfection: fragile, mutable, flawed, and ultimately hopeful.

WAREHOUSE:01 𝘠𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘪 𝘠𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘪
Curated by Mika Yoshitake (@mikayoshitake)

The sixth iteration of The Warehouse’s single-artist exhibition series presents the work of Japanese artist Yukinori Yanagi (@yanagiyukinori) whose practice has spent decades interrogating borders, national identity, and the symbols through which ideas of belonging are constructed.

From ant farms in which national flags slowly dissolve as living colonies move through colored sand to earthworks connecting historically charged sites across continents, Yanagi creates systems that are precise in their construction yet ultimately surrendered to forces beyond the artist’s control. The exhibition traces a practice grounded in movement and permeability, asking what remains when seemingly fixed boundaries begin to break apart.

So grateful for this gorgeous book, hot off the press from @karmakarma9 and @karmabookstore. Conceived as like a “wordless novel,” it documents my spring exhibition at @aspenartmuseum, with a coda featuring my current work at @mca_denver.

Huge thanks to AAM director @nicolaleesm and my curators @danielmerritt and @simonemkrug for their brilliant and generous forwards and text, and everyone at Aspen Art Museum and Karma who made this book possible. Special shoutouts to my incredible Karma director @clemonstrr, and the genius designer @davidschoerner!

There are 300 special edition copies, including 250 signed. I’ll also be signing books tomorrow at the @a_r_t_c_r_u_s_h brunch at 10 a.m.

So grateful and honored to be included in the @aspenartmuseum ArtCrush live auction this Friday, July 31, with

Peanuts Skating Under the Galaxies (Galaxy Cluster MACS J1149 Captured by the James Webb Space Telescope), 2026
Oil on linen
52 × 40 in. (132.08 × 101.60 cm)

This painting is a sequel to my 2025 painting Peanuts Skating Under the Cosmic Sky (Dwarf Galaxy Wolf–Lundmark–Melotte Captured by the James Webb Space Telescope). I loved that painting so much that I wanted to continue the narrative. Here, Earth continues its journey through space, traveling from one galaxy to another, as the Peanuts gang skates in unison, echoing the way planets orbit their stars.

The 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas profoundly shaped me, building on the comic strips I read every day. Its warmth, spirituality, and quiet confidence in treating children with respect made it one of the greatest animated specials ever created. Bill Melendez’s collaboration with Charles Schulz brought these characters to life with extraordinary humanity.

Inspired by the original skating sequence, I replaced several minor characters with Franklin, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Woodstock, expanding the cast while honoring the spirit of the original.

The James Webb Space Telescope captured this galaxy cluster nearly five billion light-years away. Its immense gravity bends space, revealing distant galaxies and evoking the Kantian sublime. Looking into the vastness of the universe reminds us that we are tiny, yet profoundly connected to one another and to the natural world that sustains us.

I hope this painting invites viewers to skate alongside these timeless characters beneath the galaxies, recognizing the interdependence of all beings and inspiring us to make the world a better place.

This is a coda to the body of work I presented in my solo exhibition this past spring at the museum, and to the works currently on exhibition @mca_denver!

Many thanks to the AAM family, including curators @danielmerritt and @simonemkrug, and AAM Director @nicolaleesm, who also generously wrote for the book to be released tomorrow by the wonderful @karmakarma9 !

One of the first things you encounter in the Arch Connelly show @aspenartmuseum are the vitrines, which we built in anticipation of a full artist’s chronology in the catalogue next year. Some months ago @machinewashupto generously led a workshop with our curatorial team to discuss the work of building an artist chronology - channeling G Celant method and beyond - and that was a turning point for how we started to imagine the organisation of archival materials in the show too. At some other point then @fabio_cherstich said “let’s double down on the vitrines, put them all together in one very long line”, and so we did — and then @gemmamariuccia & our whole team filled them with such rigour and sensitivity and meticulous attention. And for those who can’t make it to Aspen, there’s an archival film specially for you directed by the one and only @lisarovner which will be online soon
