I ended up taking 2nd for the ‘26 West Coast Championship and 1st for the @yakabass Chris Laird Memorial! Both 2 day events that ran from Fri-Sun.

I knew that if I wanted to have a chance, I’d have to put a ton of time in. Spent 12 hours on my pre-practice day (before off-limits), checking out where the bigs were located and what might play. Ended up finding something I knew I had an edge on. Went back out Saturday when official practice opened, spent another 13 hours and found my areas and pattern still holding strong. Then for a full Wednesday and half of Thursday, I only looked for fall back plans as precautionary’s.

Game day - Friday and Saturday I ended up pulling 208.50” mid lake (2nd place), 104.25” of which also counted toward Yak-A-Bass day 1. Sunday morning, @andrewserarfishing asked if I’d try the same area again to finish the 2nd event. I told him no, no way it’ll produce another 100” bag, but I have areas at the Oaks in my pocket for this. Me: “If the wind allows and I can get to those fish, I am going to trash them.”

Launched outta Oaks, got to my fish and the rest is history. Finished Yak-A-Bass day 2 for another 105”, for a grand total of 209.25”(1st place).

No words can describe how it feels to really see these type of results the past few months. I’ve been so blessed and fortunate so far this year. No one besides God, Chynna, and my parents truly know how hard I work off camera.

Let this be a reminder that ANYONE can do great, but ONLY if you put in the work. Always stay hungry!

Thank you,

God

God is so good, anything is possible when you put all your trust in Him! Trust that if it is His will, it WILL happen and if not there’s still satisfaction and purpose to the outcome!

I ended up just short of gold finishing 2nd, but I’m still so grateful and fortunate especially on a stage like this. Who would’ve thought, that a guy from little Oroville, Calif. would be able to carve his way onto one of the biggest stages in kayak bass fishing. Free motivation, if I can so can you!

Thank you family and friends for all the support and prayers. I felt that tremendous support throughout the two days of competition! Thank you @nanasdigidiaries for always supporting me through my dreams, I hope you take pride in any success I may find with this passion as these are your achievements as much as they are mine.

Thank you @steve_owens_0207 and @bass_nation for bringing such an awesome opportunity back over to California. It’s been a somewhat of an unreachable dream to compete on this stage and to have a shot at actually taking first is already something so special I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Congratulations @theoutdoorpowercouple, couldn’t be anymore happier for you. You’ve put in so much work out there and it really shows, and also congratulations to everyone who placed! Couldn’t have done it without my @snipermarinefish pole.

Catch you all on Murray… maybe. 👀😂 #Bassmaster #BassmasterKayakSeries

Oh man... Glory be to the Lord!

Full circle moment as it was this same Native event in 2023 where I was first introduced to competitive kayak bass fishing and now to claim my first champion title feels unreal. So much time sacrificed from family and friends trying to perfect this craft and to finally see it all fall into fruition... just extremely blessed and fortunate.

Leading up to the event I just felt the Holy Spirit giving me hints and confidence none I’d felt before, so I knew it’d do great in this event. With this, I knew all I had to do was execute and the Lord would align the stars for me out there and He did just that.

Stumbled upon a magical bite targeting schooling fish in 12-20ft around grass beds. These fish were feeding on threadfin shad, knowing this I leaned heavily on a 3.5” Yamamoto Hinge minnow pairing it off with a @bass_union 2/0 - 3/16oz Sharp Shooter Head. I fully trusted my gear and WINCHED all my fish in using @plinefishing 10lb Tactical FC. Finished the event with a grand total of 498” for 31 scorables and best five going 98”

Thank you to @nativewatercraft and Marv In for continuing to bring this event to California. Thank you to my family and friends for the continued support on and off the water! It was such a great sight to see so many more young anglers jumping into the event, hopefully the sport continues to grow!

Not the finish line, but more fuel to add to the fire! #bassfishing

Excited to share that I’ve finally claimed my first @bamtrail_ Kayak Champion title (TOC), and what tops it off is that I did it on a fishery I’ve never been to!

After an extremely productive pre-practice and official practice day, I knew I had a very good chance at a top 3 finish. With Day 1 being an open launch, I decided to spend it in Jones Valley targeting standing timber. I’ve never felt so dialed onto a pattern where I was calling my shots, essentially knowing which trees would yield the biggest fish within a certain area. Thanks to my @snipermarinefish pole, I ended Day 1 at 102.50” with a 21.75” big fish anchoring my bag and leading the tournament by a 16” margin over the rest of the field.

Going into Day 2 at Bridge Bay, I knew that finishing with over 80” would most likely seal the win. For the first half of the day, I fished relatively fast, searching for more areas to add to my rotation later, as my bite didn’t turn on until the afternoon. Once the clock struck 11:00AM, I started my rotation and eventually finished Day 2 with an additional 92.75”, bringing my event total to 195.25”!

At this point, saying I’m blessed and fortunate almost feels like an understatement. Not sure why God has placed me in these positions, but it’s been unreal to look back this year. Local derbies or not, trying to keep up with THEE best kayak anglers in California is no easy feat!

Special thank you to @nanasdigidiaries, my family, and friends for the constant love and support. 🫂

On to the NEXT!

Though I am unworthy, He continuously blesses me. Thank You Lord; the glory is Yours.

After multiple close finishes, I have finally claimed my first champion title in a five-fish-limit derby, and to make it even more memorable, I did it on the California Delta. It’s no secret how difficult this place can fish, so being able to finally piece a little something together feels unreal. Ended the event with 99.50” (roughly 25lbs), worked extra hard to try and break another century finish but I’ll take this! Couldn’t have done it without my @snipermarinefish pole.

I finally let go of doing the typical things out there and committed to incorporating my strengths into the mix knowing I’d either finish low or on top. This was a prime example of how standing out from the crowd can reward you if you do your homework.

Thank you @yakabass for the fun event, and most importantly, thank you @nanasdigidiaries for continuously believing in me.

The good Lord blessed me with a 4th place finish at the California Delta for @bamtrail_ Kayak Stop no. 3!

It feels so great to finally have a solid finish out there because I’ve struggled the past handful of times. The typical Delta techniques come fairly easily to me since I grew up pond hopping, but the fact that this fishery is tidal makes it so much more difficult, in my opinion. I’m not sure if I overthink things out there, but reading the current and taking into account the numerous types of cover and structure these fish could be relating to always seems to be a hurdle I struggle to overcome.

I pretty much junk-fished all day to catch +80”. Ended up mixing in some unorthodox approaches to give me some key culls to hit 90.25”, which was awesome!

Thank you all for the support family and friends! Congratulations to all who placed and qualified for the 2026 WCC!

Always striving for more but extremely grateful with what I get. Looking forward to the next one! #bassfishing #GodIsGood
