This wasn’t about talent. He was talented. That’s why I hired him.

But creating a great product and genuinely taking care of the person who trusted you are two different things, and the second matters more.

A good video doesn’t undo poor communication. It doesn’t restore a client’s trust or erase how they were treated throughout the process.

As a founder, avoiding this conversation would have been easier. Replacing talented people is inconvenient. But keeping someone who doesn’t carry the same level of ownership eventually costs the client, the team, and the reputation we’ve worked to build.

I don’t enjoy conversations like this. But our clients trust us with their brands, and protecting that trust has to come before avoiding an uncomfortable decision. by @simply.gavin

Centering your energy is how you bring up a room, bring up your team, bring up your friends. Bring good energy into a room, and it’ll become. Bring bad energy, and it’ll become. by @simply.gavin

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about working, it’s about enjoying the freedoms you have as a result of working. For some of us, it may be at location, freedom, financial freedom, or even the freedom to be your own boss. End of the day, don’t forget to be you outside of the entrepreneur hat. There’s always more work to do, don’t forget to spend as much time as you can with the people you’re working hard for. by @simply.gavin

The highs and lows are all worth it. As someone who had an unstable upbringing, the chaos of a business, and pushing for something bigger than myself, is something that grounds me, one of the truest forms of self fulfillment I have outside of God. It’s purpose, it’s thrill, it’s a wild spiritual roller coaster, and it’s the ultimate self development exercise. Many times, I wonder when I’m going to make it to the next step, but forget to realize, that I’ve already made it - not working for anyone else, have location freedom, and have control over what I do in the middle of the day on Monday. I forget how many things I’ve already accomplished, and looking back up to this point, I’m so happy that I have the stress, and constant chaos, because at least, I’m the one with the cards, and I get to choose how to play. by @simply.gavin
