The end of an era! I started this journey way
before I ever received a certificate or degree.

Nurturing mamas and babies IS my passion.

HOWEVER, It’s rare that the work we love to do pays us what we deserve. So we pivot, and cherish the moments where what we love is giving more than it’s taking.

I sacrificed a lot to stand back 15 years later and say 😮‍💨 you DID that !!!

Thankful for the guidance of mentors and colleagues that will hopefully be part of my birth journey! ONE DAY BUT NOT SOON

This past week has been a whirlwind. I been up and I been down.

Going to the MediCal Doula Hub Doula Mingle Launch event @lagathers reminded me what I LOVE about LA is the community I have built being a doula.

The families I serve get to see the best of me because I got boss ass doulas and county officials backing the plan to have #DOULASONEVERYBLOCK

Thank you @frontlinedoulas for going to back for us time and time again!!

If I ever leave LA 👀 I’m starting a chapter wherever I go!!

I’ve been on a journey y’all!! Everyday getting me closer to being a certified professional midwife.

This Midwifery life is not for the weak or the wary.

But I celebrate my successes and learn from shortcomings with my family and the beautiful community around me.

If it weren’t for that pretty lady, my grandmother on the last slide I would have never known how rewarding it can be to nurture families for a living ✨

Nana, I know you up there smiling looking down on the fruit of your labor!

This is what Black folks mean when we say we are our ancestors wildest dreams!!!! ❤️ 🙏🏽 🕊️

Days with my OG doula clients encompass measuring bellies, teaching the whole family how to care for the mama/birthing person, and showing little big kids how to take photos the old school way 🤣 !!
