Happy Birthday to my baby sister, my built in best friend, and honestly my little twin. 🤍

Erica, watching you grow into the woman you are today has been one of my greatest joys. You are eight years younger than me, but you’ve become such an incredible example of strength, resilience, grace, and love.

I am so proud of the wife you are, the mother you are becoming, and the woman God is continuing to shape you into. You’ve overcome so much, and instead of allowing it to define you, you’ve let it refine you. That takes courage.

Thank you for being such a gift to me. I don’t know what I’d do without my baby sister. I pray this next year is filled with God’s favor, joy, peace, wisdom, and every promise He has spoken over your life.

My son didn’t want to look like he rented his tux. Who can blame him?

The strongest part of our marriage isn’t what you see at the end of this video… it’s what made the end of this video possible.

We celebrated 23 years of marriage on June 28.

Truthfully, we didn’t get away this year. Life has been incredibly full. Between pastoring, building our church, raising our children, serving our community, and preparing for this new season God has us in, there simply wasn’t time.

But as I sat and reflected, I realized something.

This is the celebration.

This life we’ve built together is the gift.

Whether it’s just a quiet game of chess.
Laughing over nothing.
Reading the Word together.
Praying together.
Or ending the day with a kiss….

Those ordinary moments have become extraordinary because Christ has always been at the center of them.

Twenty seven years ago we started dating. For four years, we waited. We were both virgins, and we didn’t even kiss until we knew we were honoring God in the way we pursued one another. We weren’t trying to be impressive. We simply believed that God’s way was worth trusting.

Has marriage been easy? No. But…it was EASILY one of the BEST decisions of my entire life.

There have been seasons of sacrifice, stretching, learning, forgiveness, growth, and choosing one another again and again.

But through every season, God has remained faithful.

Today, I can honestly say our marriage is stronger than it’s ever been.

@thepastorjay , thank you for loving me with patience, gentleness, and sacrifice. Thank you for leading our family and loving me in a way that continually points me back to Christ.

“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us…” Ephesians 5:2

If you’re believing God for a marriage, or you’re in one that’s being refined, don’t lose heart.

When Christ is the foundation, love doesn’t simply survive.
It grows.
It deepens.
It endures.

Happy 23 years to us.
Here’s to continuing to choose God, and because of Him, continuing to choose each other.

She’s 46|
Today I celebrate another year of God’s faithfulness.

If there is anything I pray my life reflects, it is not success, influence, or recognition, but the love of Christ.

To my family, friends, and our BOC Houston community, thank you for allowing me to walk alongside you. Being called your mentor, sister, friend, and servant is one of the greatest honors of my life.

Every prayer we’ve prayed together, every tear we’ve shared, every victory we’ve celebrated, and every lesson God has taught us has shaped me into the woman I am becoming.

The sweet messages I’ve received today remind me that the greatest thing we can leave behind is love. If people see Jesus a little more clearly because of my life, then I’ve lived well.

As I step into another year, I feel a sense of power and GRACE that I never felt before and my prayer is simple:

Lord, keep my heart surrendered. Keep my hands available. Keep my love genuine. Let everything I put my hands to build, bring glory to You.

Thank you to everyone who has celebrated me today. I love you deeply, and I pray that God returns every seed of love you’ve sown into my life a hundredfold.

My mother and I watched her win it.

My son got to hold it. ❤️

As a little girl, I remember gathering around the television with my mom to watch Dominique Dawes compete. We celebrated her victories, admired her strength, and watched history unfold.

Years later, I stood beside Dominique with my son as he held the very gold medal my mother and I once watched her win.

What a beautiful full circle moment.

Thank you @dominiquedawesacademy and @dominiquedaweshouston for inviting us to celebrate your Grand Opening and for creating a place where children can build confidence, strength, and a love for movement.

This day was about so much more than gymnastics for me. It was about legacy, memories, and seeing one generation inspire the next. ❤️
