Women to Know | Oklahoma

Wow!! I’m still processing this one. 🤍

I’m truly honored to be included in the first class of Women to Know in Oklahoma @theknowwomen

I’m a community builder at heart. For more than 20 years, I’ve been working quietly and consistently in Oklahoma City, focused on service, relationships, and driving meaningful, lasting impact alongside incredible people.

My work in professional sports has taught me that being a woman in a leadership role isn’t just about earning a seat at the table—it’s about making the table bigger, so more women can lead and thrive.

This recognition isn’t mine alone—it reflects the mentors, teammates, partners, and community who make this work possible.

I’m deeply grateful to my hubby and our boys, who have been by my side through every season. I’m also humbled by the experiences that have shaped me, and honored to do the work I get to do every day.

Grateful to stand alongside women who lead with intention and heart. Congrats to all!

Let’s celebrate!

You’d be forgiven if you thought that after almost nine years on the job, @simplyerinoldfield, VP of Community Engagement for the Oklahoma City Thunder, might be acclimatized to the effect her team’s work has on people and communities across the state. After all, they produce about 100 events a season.

Happily, she isn’t; in fact the opposite is true.

“What I really love the most about the job are the moments behind the scenes that people really don’t get to see. We’re really good storytellers, and we have amazing videos and photos, but it’s really the conversations, the emails and the letters in the mail I get, telling the personal stories afterward, telling me how much the things that we do mean to them. It’s when the cameras are off, getting to see a player who’s interacting with a kid, and they’re having a special moment in conversation. That’s so energizing.”

🗒️ As we turn the page to a new season, I’m taking one more look back at a year we’ll never forget. So proud to share the impact we made together.

Last season, our community efforts impacted more than 145,000 youth through funding and support for learning and technology renovations, AI and STEM supplemental education, creating pathways to careers in sports and entertainment, and programs led by the @okcthunder through our @thundercares platform throughout our communities. The Thunder Community Foundation also reached an important milestone, raising a record-breaking nearly $1 million to help expand our ability to invest in programming, nonprofits, and organizations serving Oklahoma youth.

Those numbers are worth celebrating and what excites me most is what they allow us to build upon.

This season, we’re continuing to bring greater intentionality to our community work, with a focus on education, healthy and vibrant communities, workforce development, and basic needs. That work comes to life in many ways, through the Foundation, our community programs, the involvement of our players, coaches and staff, and the nonprofit and corporate partners who work alongside us.

Our Community Impact Report tells the story of where we’ve been. As a new season begins, I hope it also provides a glimpse of where we’re going. There is so much more we can accomplish together.

Voices matter. 🩵

It’s the voices of those who have struggled. Gone through life in ways I haven’t. Or ways I have.

We can all learn from each other’s voices and I loved that we created that space for those who sat on our panel at the Voices of @remergeoklahoma event last week. And I’m grateful to so many of my friends, donors and volunteers who showed up to hear their voices.

What are you struggling with, friend? Your voice matters too. ✨ by @simplyerinoldfield

“We are moment makers. Using sports not just to entertain, but to transform lives across Oklahoma.”

Thank you @theknowwomen for sending me a copy of the inaugural women in sports magazine—-with all the fun swag from the launch!

Shay Hinton was so fun to work with through the entire process—she did such an eloquent job of bringing my words to life. 🙏

I’m incredibly proud to be in this network of amazing women. Thank you for highlighting the amazing women breaking ceilings in sports! 💙🏀

September is Hunger Action Month. 🧡

Today, I’m reflecting back on our company-wide Service Project at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma earlier this year.

Standing alongside leaders like Stacy Dykstra—and knowing how many incredible people across our community do the real work every single day—makes me hopeful.

The gaps children and families face when it comes to something as basic as food simply shouldn’t exist. But I’m continually inspired by the people and organizations working to close them.

From the Regional Food Bank to Skyline, Restore OKC, Hunger Free Oklahoma, our schools, after-school programs and so many community agencies, there are incredible people showing up every day.

This month, take some time to get to know a few of them. Follow their work. Volunteer. Support them. Learn more about the need in our own community.

Grateful for the people doing the work—and hopeful because of them. 🧡🥬🍎

I love asking this question because everyone has a different answer. 💙

Basketball. Winning. Players. OKC. Excitement. Family. Community.

The answers are different, but they all point to something bigger, the connection people have to this team and to each other.

That’s the part of sports I love most.

We talk a lot about being bigger than basketball. We can’t control what happens on the court, but we can control how we show up off of it. We can lead. We can invest. We can bring people together. We can use our platform to shine a light on great work and contribute to making our community stronger.

Thunder Up!

💙🏀

The game may happen on the court, but the impact reaches far beyond it. 🏀

For Erin Oldfield, sports are more than entertainment—they’re a platform for connection, opportunity, and meaningful change. As Vice President of Community Engagement for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Executive Director of the Thunder Community Foundation, she’s helping use the power of sports to transform lives across Oklahoma.

Offseason doesn’t mean a pause in the work we do. 💙

It’s been a very busy summer for the Thunder Community Foundation and I love seeing these investments come to life across our community.

🏀 A new Thunder basketball court in Stillwater.

💙 A $25,000 grant to Goodwill, including new Thunder graphics in a room designed to inspire the young people they serve.

🎮 A renovated esports lab at Webster Middle School, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and a space for students to learn, compete and connect.

I am grateful for the donors and supporters who make this work possible, and for the incredible community partners who help us bring it to life.

Let me know if you’d like to learn more about the work we do! We get to do more good when we do it together. 💙⚡️
