We are so grateful to have been welcomed back to @flockfiberfestival for our second year as vendors! The community is always the part we look forward to the most, and there are no words to express just how much joy being here with such wonderful people brings us.

Thank you to everyone who visited and shopped our booth, and to the people who helped keep us hydrated and fed. Our flock caretakers and family @summitandskein and @bb.knits made sure we were taken care of 🩷🩷

Round two! Pulling more favorites for Flock this year, including our best selling tonal colorway of all time: Secret Little Things!! We haven’t offered this colorway since its initial release a year (or two??) ago. I’ve been looking for the perfect time to bring it back in a much larger sense 😈😜

The reliquary sweater is being released tomorrow, July 22!

The sweater is a deep colorwork yoke inspired by Saint Chapelle in Paris. It features cathedral motifs and a unique design instruction that allows for one or two motifs to be centered, all while letting you place up front your favorite cathedral should you use a variegated yarn.

It is graded for sizes 28-63”. Thank you to Raelynn of @sincerefiberco for collaborating with me on this design❤️❤️

I sent my sample to Raelynn so yall can see it in person if you’re going to flock!

SOCK SETS!! 🧦🎨 The Joy of Making

We can’t have a complete collection without sock sets!! Sock sets will be available on our beloved Serene Silk Sock base and each comes with one 100g (400yds) variegated skein + one 20g (80yds) mini skein.

Serene Silk Sock is a 2ply yarn composed of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Silk. Not only is the silk sock base a dream to work with, but the resulting fabric has a luxorious feel and stunning drape while maintaining the strength and durability that we look for in sock yarns! If there is any base that I believe “can do it all” in terms of making accessories, garments, etc., Serene Silk Sock is it! ✨❤️

SPINNING FIBER 🐑 The Joy of Making

It’s time to share our colorways on spinning fiber!! 🥹

For this collection, all six colorways will be available on our Targhee fiber base. We first introduced Targhee fiber into the lineup in the FEAR collection last year. For those who’ve yet to experience this fiber base, Targhee is both bouncy and smooth, and the fiber spins like butter! The resulting yarn has a squishy body that I’m completely obsessed with 🥰✨

SWATCHES 🧶 The Joy of Making

I’m thrilled to share with y’all the swatches I made for The Joy of Making!

You may notice that this time around, the swatches look a little different! I tried something new by making the knit, Tunisian crochet, and crochet swatch for each colorway as one continuous piece ❤️ this was a really fun experiment, and I’m proud of how they turned out!

Additionally, I made swatches on the Heirloom DK (non superwash) base!! Y’all, I cannot. Express. Enough. Just how much I love the Heirloom base!!! Not only does it take the dyes so beautifully (and uniquely!), but I’ve fallen more and more in love with how the yarn feels to work with. Sometimes I wonder if having it just on fingering and DK isn’t enough 👀

Introducing Wilderness Day + Lay of the Land | The Joy of Making 🌅

Last but certainly not least — and the most personal of the collection — inspired by Wilderness Day, S31E13. The last episode of The Joy of Painting aired. ❤️

This painting has lived in my inspiration folder for a long time. I was honestly a little afraid to touch it. How do you do justice to a final goodbye from someone who gave so much joy to the world?

The scene itself is wild and alive — lush dark greens, a dramatic bare tree reaching into a moody, warm sky, that signature soft mountain dissolving into the distance. It’s full of life, warmth, and is truly very special to me.

Wilderness Day is composed of deep forest greens, rich earthy browns, flashes of coral and magenta from that glowing sky, and the quiet dark of the shadows signaling the end of a glorious wilderness day.

The tonal, Lay of the Land, is Bob’s own words — what he called the lush mid-ground greenery as he was painting it. It felt too perfect not to use. It’s the deep, grounded green of a wilderness that has always been there and always will be. 💚

Winter Glow + Gilded Frost | The Joy of Making 🏔️
Next up from our Bob Ross-inspired collection, inspired by Winter Glow, S1E11. This painting stops me every time — there’s something about a sunrise over a snow-covered field that feels like the whole world is holding its breath. Still, cold, and achingly beautiful.🌲❄️

Winter Glow pulls from the full scene: deep teal evergreens, the warm burnt orange of dried winter grasses at the water’s edge, and soft strokes of sage and cream — the complexity hides a bit underneath a seemingly simple winter landscape. The tonal, Gilded Frost, captures that magical moment when sunlight hits frost-covered branches and the cold suddenly glows just a touch warmer. 🤍

Introducing Snow Trail + Dusk Among the Pines | The Joy of Making 🎨
The first two colorways from our Bob Ross-inspired collection are here, and they were inspired by Snow Trail, S6E6. This scene feels a little mysterious, maybe even a little lonely, but somehow still completely peaceful.

For the variegated, Snow Trail pulls the full drama of the scene: inky midnight blue, warm golden brown, dusty purple, and flashes of cream. The tonal, Dusk Among the Pines, lives in that hazy middle distance where the trees dissolve into mist. It’s a warm, smoky lavender that has stolen my heart!
