graphic design 🤝 lettering - DAY 1

I’m trying something new!!

My passion for art and design started when I was a little girl and got into calligraphy. I fell in love with hand-lettering Bible verses, and I hung them all around my room.

Lately, I have been seeing books of the Bible in the form of little journaling booklets, and I got inspired to design my own!

I’m starting with the book of Proverbs!!

“If dependence is the goal, weakness if the advantage.” - @jpokluda

A very dear friend of mine who I called while wrestling with things in my heart, once said “kate being vulnerable doesn’t make you weak, it makes you dependent, and that’s ok.”

Dependence on Christ Jesus is the goal. That thing you wrestle with? That sin you can’t quit going back to? The shame you carry?

He took that on himself when he was nailed to the cross. And His resurrection means He’s overcome that. by @sincerelykate_creative

One of my favorite projects from my time @libertyuniversity is my packaging project.

We designed a packaging series based on a character of our choice. Forrest Gump is a favorite for me, and I love the southern roots and artistry that comes with it.

Introducing Forrests Best - a conceptual shrimp seasoning line based on the life of Forrest Gump.

A unique feature of this package is that every side of the box connects to each other, creating a cohesive, hand-done design.

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been journaling my heart out. I felt closest to the Lord when I journaled.

Now, looking back, not only do I get to re-use my art, but I see the Lord’s faithfulness, not only in answered prayers, but I also see Him gently shaping me, challenging me, and molding me.

It’s in the wrestle of our prayers that we are brought closer. And now I have some of the most beautiful artwork from the most trying of times. taken in Greenville, South Carolina by @sincerelykate_creative
