Sekhmet statue in a dark Karnak chamber that is often locked is subject to many supernatural theories. Sekhmet whose name means: “She who is powerful” or “the One who loves Ma’at” was the goddess of the hot desert sun, plague, chaos, war, and healing. Must say it was a little creepy inside with this dark basalt statue. Apparently good and evil mingle together anyway so nothing is pure evil in ancient Egypt. As a student i didn’t have enough time to visit Abu Simbel, thinking i could come again. 30 years later Abu Simbel in front of Lake Nasser near the Sudan border, is as magical as I have read. Ramses II was certainly a grand Pharoah and on solstice the sun shines into the deepest chambers, testimony to advanced knowledge of solar systems. taken in Ramesses II Temple, Abu Simbel, Aswan, Egypt. by @singing_mynah

Iban chieftains would carve wooden baby carriers for their wives and sons. This is Iban from Sarawak. Commoners would not use these, usually only sons of chieftains. These are hardly used anymore as many became Christians taken in Kuching Waterfront by @singing_mynah
