Summer's calling and Lancome answered 🌇

A few weeks ago, we joined @thescentgirlssociety and @lancomeofficial for a summer time soiree to get to know the newest flanker to the original 2019 Idôle.

It was so refreshing to experience the different notes of the newest Idôle Peaches 'n Roses: juicy tangy peach, sparkling red berries, and their classic addictive velvet rose. To me, their newest scent felt like biting into a wet peach on a nice sunny day. You're greeted with the tartness of the berries and it dries down into a pleasant powdery rose (and I do love me a rose).

So far, it has been my go-to scent for the summer as it does not go bad after being exposed to the sun for hours (it doesn't go sour 🫶🏽). As someone who gets decision fatigue during the day, Peaches 'n Roses definitely helped with those "head empty" moments when deciding which scent to wear.

Still in disbelief that I was at the opening of @yslbeauty's first boutique store in the Philippines 😵‍💫

Congrats again to @rafdimla14 and the entire YSL Beauty team for such a fun, immersive, and glamorous experience. Always a treat to be photographed by the @karlotorio, and just be among so many beautiful people, especially my good sister, @xianchva 🫶🏽

If given the chance, please visit their first-ever boutique in Mall of Asia! Try out all their #fragrance and #makeup--still can't get over Blouse and Lavalliere from the Le Vestiaire des Parfums collection 🫦

WEEKEND DIARIES: LIVING INTENTIONALLY

This weekend, at the @thenegrostradefair, I am reminded of what it means to live with "intentionallity," which means being conscious of the moments and people that shape the way we see the world.

I met a ton of incredible and inspiring people from the Visayas region. I would like to highlight two powerful women whose stories and advocacies serve as a reminder of what it means to truly live with purpose:

Ms. @art_of_arl_ : An artist who returned to her passion in her 50s, creating works that honor the beauty and spirit of her community.

Ms. @vida.bcd (@vivohandmade): A social entrepreneur who promotes decent work through the arts, making sure young people and senior citizens receive fair compensation for what they create.

Their stories moved me. They stirred a feeling of pagbabalik-loob—a strong feeling of coming home to the arts, and to the simple truth that living intentionally also means living consciously.

To sit with experiences like these, whether in a café corner, in conversations with strangers-turned-friends, or in the creativity of our people, is to recognize how connected we all are.

When we make space for what we love, we also make space for the world to speak back to us. May we find ourselves continuously blessed with more moments of clarity and inspiration such as these. Truly a great weekend full of love for the arts, our culture, and our people.

“Liwanag at Dilim”

All my life, I’ve been told to “focus on the positive” and “dapat happy happy lang.” And for the most part, I could. I became the happy, funny, life-of-the-party person. But that’s not the whole of me.

There’s a darkness I’ve always been taught to hide—a part of me that can hurt the people I love the most, yet one I rarely talk about.

That’s why I resonate so deeply with these two pieces, Liwanag and Dilim. Someone I met on TikTok said: we all carry both light and darkness, and we need to learn from both. I’m still on that journey of not just living with my darkness but letting others see and understand it.

I’m grateful to share these life worlds with artists who turn their journeys, traumas, and truths into something we can see and feel.

Congratulations on your first solo exhibit, @_phons! I can’t wait to see where your light (and even your shadows) take you next.
