The greatest act of rebellion against trauma... 👇🏻

Is creating the childhood you never had for someone else 💞

Your pain may explain your story, but it DOESN'T have to define your legacy ❌

Healing isn't about returning to who you were, it's about growing into an adult the child in you needed.

Yes, trauma can leave scars. It can increase risk, shape statistics & lead many of us to spend years wandering, lost in the dark...

But someday, some of us will choose something extraordinary...

We become the adults we spent our childhood waiting for & leave the world a better place in our relentless pursuit of creating beauty from our pain.

If these words resonate with you, I salute you. If you see yourself in this, you are formidable.

Lots of love 😘

A little reminder that your real face, real body, real home AND your beautifully chaotic real life are absolutely ENOUGH 💯

You don't need a teensy chanteray 🥕 inspired AI nose, poreless "glass" skin, a Pinterest house, or a face that's been filtered from another postcode 😂

Your wrinkles are ALLOWED. Your pores are PERMITTED Your wonky bits are WELCOMED. And so is that pile of laundry that's been living on the chair for three working WEEKS.

I miss seeing a variety of features. Blemishes. Cellulite. Teeth that don't glow our white under UV. I miss seeing expression. Lines on people's faces... Humour. Chaotic homes & just realised authentic human messiness.

You are a human being, not a bloody AI-generated show home. 💋

(Yes, I've been guilty of asking AI to tidy up my background too- but why are we doing this & where is this going? This is social media, not Linkedin? 🤔)
So here's to real faces, real homes, real bodies and real lives.

Perfection is overrated. Authenticity is where the magic happens. ✨

NOW, SHOW ME YOUR LAUNDRY 🧺😂👇

Someone messaged me this week asking about this subject & it got me thinking about how spectacularly BAD we can be at teaching people about sex, so let's gooo 🌶️

For years, sex education has largely focused on how NOT to get pregnant and how NOT to catch an STI. Important? Absolutely. But where are the conversations about what actually makes sex GOOD? 👀

Because when adults are too embarrassed to have those conversations, young people increasingly learn from porn. And porn was never designed to be sex education. It doesn’t reliably teach enthusiastic consent, boundaries, communication, mutual pleasure, emotional safety, awkwardness, laughter, checking in or changing your mind. 💚

And frankly, some grown adults could use the refresher too. 👀 You don’t owe somebody access to your body because you flirted, kissed, sent a photo, slept with them before or got them turned on. You can stop halfway through. Ask for more. Ask for less...

Laugh when one of you gets cramp... 😂!!! Talk about testing. Insist on protection. Say what you LOVE & what you absolutely DO-DEFINITELY-N O T!

Because SAFETY DOESN’T KILL PASSION. SAFETY CREATES FREEDOM. 🔥 When I know my no will be respected, I feel infinitely safer giving you my HELL YES.

Sex can be filthy, tender, playful, ridiculous, adventurous, soft AND intense. It can be a beautiful place to replenish & restore ourselves, release frustration, reconnect with our bodies & put down the worries we’ve been carrying around all week. ❤️‍🔥

At its best, sex isn’t simply an act we do. It can feel like a sacred place we go to...
a place where we get to be present, vulnerable & completely ourselves. 💫

And if somebody wants access to THAT place?

BABY, STANDARDS ARE ESSENTIAL. 💅🔥

Choose people who respect your boundaries, protect your vulnerability, care about your pleasure AND make you feel safe enough to completely let go.

May your standards be HIGH, your communication shameless & your yeses absolutely fucking enthusiastic. 💚

Big love,
Auntie Spice 🌶️❤️

🚨 SIGN THE PETITION — LINK IN BIO! 🚨

We need 100,000 signatures to push this issue towards a debate in Parliament. PLEASE sign and share. ✍️

CHILDREN ARE NOT MARKETING TOOLS FOR THE PORN INDUSTRY. FULL STOP.

Children, their images and their likenesses should NEVER be used to advertise, promote or generate engagement for pornography or commercial adult-content businesses.

Not even when the images themselves are innocent.

Not even when they're fully clothed.

Not even when the adults involved think it's harmless.

Children cannot meaningfully consent to being associated with the commercial sex industry.

This isn't about shaming sex workers or policing consenting adults.

It's about safeguarding children, protecting their digital identities and establishing clear legal boundaries between childhood and commercial sexual content.

And frankly, those boundaries should already exist.

📢 This parliamentary petition is calling for legislation to close that safeguarding gap.

✍️ 27,132 people have already signed. We need 100,000.

Every signature matters. Every share extends its reach.

🔗 LINK IN BIO — SIGN THE PETITION TODAY.

And please share this with your friends, your followers, fellow parents and anyone who believes children's rights should come before commercial interests.

Because protecting children shouldn't be controversial. ❤️

I keep thinking about all the ways I abandoned myself when I was a people pleaser. How many times I swallowed the thing I really wanted to say. Made myself smaller. Softer. Easier. More palatable. How often I read the room before I read myself. How bloody exhausting it is to spend your life trying to become the version of you least likely to make anybody uncomfortable.

And for so many of us who discovered our Neurodivergence later in life, this shit runs deep. We learned to watch, mirror, edit, rehearse, apologise, over-explain. We became incredibly skilled at working out which parts of ourselves got applause and which parts made people raise an eyebrow — and then we quietly started abandoning the latter.

But unmasking and healing isn't just learning to love the pretty parts...

It's protecting the parts of you that go against the grain. The parts that are LOUD. Intense. Awkward. SENSUAL. Opinionated. UNORTHODOX. The bits that are a little scary. The ideas that sound fucking ridiculous until they work. The curiosity that takes you somewhere nobody else thought to look. The brilliant, beautiful, genius, chaotic, what-the-hell-is-she-doing-now parts of you.

Because perhaps freedom isn't becoming a shinier, more acceptable version of yourself.

Perhaps freedom is finally deciding you're no longer available for self-abandonment.

So, for anybody who needs it this weekend, consider this your permission slip ✅

Grab that thing you've been dreaming about from the sidelines with both fucking hands. Jump in. Let the waves crash over you. 🌊

Get SOAKED. Get messy. Change your mind. Be seen trying. Risk looking RIDICULOUS. Take up SPACE in your own FABULOUS LIFE.

Immerse yourself in the brave, brilliant, terrifying & tantalising unknown.

You have spent enough of your life asking whether EVERYBODY ELSE is comfortable with who you are.

Now ask yourself whether YOU are comfortable with how much of your life you're leaving unlived.

Life is for living.
And freedom?

Freedom is yours for the taking 💋

Love,
Sioux 💋💋

This is such an important conversation because “we’re diagnosing more” is NOT the same thing as “we’re overdiagnosing.” 🧠⚡️

For years, huge numbers of neurodivergent people simply weren’t recognised. Girls. Women. People who masked. Children who did well academically but were falling apart behind closed doors. People whose ADHD looked like daydreaming rather than disruption. Autistic people who learned to perform “normal” at enormous personal cost.

So yes — diagnosis has increased. But that doesn’t automatically mean we’ve suddenly started handing out ADHD and autism diagnoses like participation trophies. It can also mean WE’VE GOT BETTER AT SEEING PEOPLE WE USED TO MISS.

And the figures may surprise you. The idea that everyone is neurodivergent now simply isn’t supported by prevalence estimates. Increased awareness, broader recognition of different presentations and adults finally seeking answers for lifelong difficulties can all increase the number of people being identified without proving widespread overdiagnosis.

And I think we need to be careful with the “everyone has ADHD these days” narrative. Because behind that “label” can be somebody finally understanding why life has always felt harder than it appeared from the outside. A diagnosis isn't an excuse. For many people, it's CONTEXT, LANGUAGE and ACCESS TO SUPPORT. ❤️

Really interesting discussion from Professor Duncan Astle, University of Cambridge, with Dr Chris van Tulleken and Dr Xand van Tulleken on BBC Radio 4’s What’s Up Docs? 👏 Worth listening to the full conversation rather than forming opinions from headlines and social-media soundbites.

As someone a hasc professional who works with SEND, educator AND late-diagnosed ADHDer, this conversation matters enormously to me. We don't protect people by pretending differences don't exist. We support them by understanding them.

I've spent a lot of my life "waiting for the other shoe to drop"...

Maybe you know that feeling too?

When you’ve survived trauma, rejection, abandonment or a lifetime of feeling somehow different, uncertainty doesn’t always feel exciting. Sometimes it feels dangerous. So you learn to scan the horizon. Read the room. Predict the ending. Prepare for impact before anything has even happened.

But I’ve learned that healing isn’t finally becoming certain that nothing bad will ever happen again.

It’s knowing that whatever happens, I won’t abandon myself to survive it...

I’ll ask for help.
I’ll take up space.
I’ll love people & allow myself to need them too.
I’ll rest when I’m tired without mistaking rest for giving up.
And when life knocks me sideways, I’ll find my feet again.

People sometimes ask me how I keep going after everything I’ve lived through. There's been a lot of storms, but there's also been a lot of growth...

And I don't believe my grit is unique, there isn’t some magical reserve of strength that some people are "just born with".

Sometimes keeping going is messy. Sometimes it’s one tiny decision. One phone call. One boundary. One no. One yes. One more morning where you decide you’re still here & this life- it still belongs to YOU.

Because eventually you realise: you cannot always choose what happens to you. But you can keep choosing HOW YOU RESPOND TO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

And there is something wildly, beautifully freeing about realising that your life is YOURS. ❤️

If you’ve had to rebuild yourself more than once, tell me: what’s one thing survival taught you about yourself?

3.8 million people.

That’s how many adults aged 16+ are estimated to have experienced domestic abuse in England and Wales in just ONE year.

Not over a lifetime.

One year.

According to the latest ONS figures, for the year ending March 2025:

• 3.8 million people experienced domestic abuse — 7.8% of adults.
• 2.2 million women and 1.5 million men experienced it.
• Around 1 in 4 adults — 12.5 million people — have experienced domestic abuse since the age of 16.
• Emotional abuse was the most commonly reported form of abuse.
• Police recorded 816,493 domestic-abuse-related crimes.

And even those numbers cannot tell us everything.

Because domestic abuse is often hidden.

It happens behind perfectly ordinary front doors. In relationships that look happy on Instagram. In families nobody would suspect. To people who are successful, educated, outspoken, independent and strong.

And it isn’t always a black eye.

It can be coercion. Control. Humiliation. Isolation. Financial restriction. Sexual violence. Threats. Stalking. Monitoring. Intimidation. Slowly making somebody's world smaller until they barely recognise themselves inside it.

Sometimes the question isn’t “Why didn’t they leave?”

It’s:

What was happening to them that made leaving feel more dangerous than staying?

Domestic Abuse Awareness Month is about more than awareness.

It’s about recognising abuse before it escalates. Believing survivors. Challenging the attitudes that enable it. Understanding coercive control. And building a world where surviving abuse doesn’t require somebody to become an expert in navigating systems just to feel safe again.

Behind every statistic is a human being.

And 3.8 million is far too many.

What if you stopped waiting to feel ready?

Someone dm'd me saying they're not confident enough to date, or approach the person they're interested in...

Here’s a secret many successful people don’t announce: we’re all human, and we’re all terrified sometimes.

The difference isn’t that confident people don’t feel fear.

It’s that they do it scared.

They send the message scared.
Apply for the job scared.
Book the flight scared.
Start again scared.
Tell someone how they feel scared.

Because confidence isn’t always something you find before you take the leap. Sometimes confidence is what you build because you took it.

And babe, you get one life.

How much of it do you want to spend standing on the sidelines waiting for some future, shinier, more confident version of you to arrive and finally start living it?

You are allowed to want things. You are allowed to pursue people, experiences and dreams that excite you. You are allowed to risk hearing no because you believe your life is worth giving yourself the possibility of a YES.

Rejection might sting. But rejecting yourself before anybody else gets the chance? That can cost you entire chapters.

So flirt. Apply. Ask. Create. Travel. Speak. Try.

Do it with shaky hands. Do it with butterflies. Do it scared.

Life is breathtakingly, ridiculously short.

Stop waiting for permission.

You are the author, the decision-maker and the master of your own damn destiny. 🌶️❤️

And if there’s something you’ve been too scared to go after…

consider this your sign... DO IT SCUUURED!
After all, it is spooky season 🕷️ 🕸️ 😉

What are you doing scared? 👇
