When you don’t have money to make a movie but have dear friends who are incredible actors, some rain, a camera, and @anneuemura as MVP (aka the best camera assistant ever!!) this is what happens.

A strange melancholy fell over all of us during this shoot.

Thank you @sir.constance and @alexisaube53 for being the most devoted subjects. Thank you for the immense heart you bring to everything you do. Thank you for building this world with me and for inhabiting it so convincingly. Thank you for your vulnerability and for always giving me hope in love ❤️. Somebody hire them for your movie, dammit!!

I keep asking myself, “where do I put all the love?” For now it goes here.

I think this is one of the most special moments we had on set. It was like everyone came together in synchrony… We were all there dancing with Nicole.

@fab_taillefer made the camera her dance partner.

@griot.sekeman ‘s beautiful live music gave the moment a beating heart.

@sir.constance gave Nicole her entire being.

And Henri… so tender and present..

@sintamour composed a song that aches as Nicole aches.

@kimalbertmusic gave Nicole’s silence the most beautiful, poignant voice in the last moments of the film.

Music features the beautiful playing of @laurietorres (percussion), @malbass (bass), @alexfr.paradis (accordéon) and jipé dalpé (flugelhorn).

@tania.shwain built Noah and Nicole’s world by hand.

Soir de première pour notre Henri hier soir au monument national. Quel film touchant! Que de la fierté, de l’admiration et de la gratitude après avoir enfin pu voir ce bijou. Merci Margarita pour la chance, confiance et tout l’amour que tu as donné à Henri durant ce projet. Merci Constance et Alexis d’avoir accompagné Henri avec autant d’amour et de bienveillance. Merci à toute l’équipe incroyable qui a su créer une nouvelle “famille” pour notre fils pendant ce tournage. Bravo Margarita pour cet accomplissement grandiose. Bravo ma soeur! Tu m’as bouleversée et fait pleurer à chaudes larmes. Ton talent crevait l’écran. Et Bravo mon Henri d’avoir accepté cet immense défi avec autant de naïveté et de joie. Ta candeur, ta grandeur d’âme, ta sensibilité transperçait l’immense écran de cinéma sur lequel tu étais projeté hier soir. Ceci est un post d’appréciation pour @sir.constance que j’aime à croire avoir rencontrée par hasard, lorsque j’ai été engagée comme habilleuse sur le spectacle dont elle était la vedette durant sa dernière année à l’école de théâtre. J’avais écrit Noah and Nicole peu de temps auparavant et, tandis qu’elle fredonnait doucement du Joni Mitchell en se maquillant les yeux au crayon noir, j’ai levé les yeux vers le miroir aux ampoules et j’ai eu l’immédiate réalisation que j’étais en train de coiffer les cheveux de ma Nicole. Elle a accepté de me suivre, heureusement, même si à ce moment-là le scénario était en anglais et que je n’avais encore rien à montrer de moi en tant que cinéaste. Comme moi, elle voulait simplement faire de l’art en lequel elle croyait, et de là a fleuri une amitié marquée par la croissance et une passion commune pour le rêve.
Il m’a fallu deux ans après notre première rencontre pour lancer la production, et pendant tout ce temps, Constance a toujours été là… à croire en moi… à croire en nous… à pousser Noah, Nicole et Margarita vers l’avant.
Alors, maintenant que ce film s’apprête à prendre son envol (très bientôt !!), je veux que vous voyiez à quel point elle est extraordinaire. Quel cadeau ce fut de la voir insuffler la vie à Nicole avec autant d’authenticité, de vulnérabilité, d’amour et de fougue. Constance, merci pour ton cœur de lionne, pour tous les rires et les larmes partagés, pour avoir défendu ce projet, pour m’avoir accueillie si chaleureusement dans ta vie il y a toutes ces années, pour les repas partagés, pour avoir dit oui au scénario en anglais dans l’enveloppe brune, pour avoir mis chaque fibre de ton être dans le rôle de Nicole. J’ai hâte de voir tous les rôles complexes et merveilleux que tu feras briller grâce à ton immense talent et à ton incroyable vitalité. Je t’aime <3.
