Design solutions are often tailored to precise needs, but as circumstances evolve, misalignments could emerge between solution and context, material and function, place and activity.

Sireal perceives these moments of ‘misfit’ as fertile ground for unexpected exchanges.

From an architectural perspective, Sireal explores reuse and relocation, mediating between existing conditions and divergent forces to create imaginative space and objects for a transient lifestyle. by @sirealdesign

Some recent home projects:
1. A pendant lamp that renders space as red light district. Acrylic half globes, factory kindly glued them together, as a result, it's currently being sewed to light bulb socket base with Michael s broken violin string.
2. A pendant lamp made with metal wire, rice paper, glue. Thankfully turned out more like lantern than wet tissue when it dried.
3. A table that appears to be in perpetual earthquake. And made me learn about soft wood, hard wood, wood oil, wood wax, and other American dad kind of knowledge. (Also @juicetime6302 warned me very in time about not sealing up the oil soaked cloth to avoid setting my place on fire.)
4. A broken planter turned into 3 smaller broken planter. Taught me about soil load, geotextile, nonwoven fabric, wood hardware, band saw, drill bit size, and better not try growing bamboo on your balcony.
5. A customized seating, inspired by our friends in Bali who made their own couch. But my project engagement mainly went into scrolling shipping update 3 times a day for a month and sorting the package to proper trash kind. (Although I did discover an interesting material: recycled foam.)

Right after I moved a friend asked what style I was going for with the new place, well I was hoping for 'accidental' diy with found material vibe. We ended up doing quite some precise customization, but since things often turn out broken, we achieved an accidental vibe anyway. All in all that was a lot of sweat shed in June and early July. I'm very glad I don't have to shed the sweat in the height of summer.
