To my soulmate and man of my dreams, you are the most important choice in life that I have ever made and I would make it time and time again in every lifetime. I feel like I have seen every stage of your life. Being kids in school and falling in love with you quietly through the hallways, my husband in our 20s, watching your career bloom, but I gotta say that, probably my most favorite stage in life if you has been watching you become a father, twice. Sometimes I sit back in awe and just watch the beautiful, gentle person that you are with our kids. The way you bring peace into our home, laughter and happiness. My little king of the wild things, my wild one,
Happy first birthday, my sweet Lucien.

One year ago today you came into this world with your full head of hair and the most beautiful little face I had ever seen. In that moment everything felt complete. You were the missing piece of our family, the one we had all been wishing for long before you arrived.

Your brother Logan needed you so much. He wished for you every chance he got, and we all hoped for you with so much love in our hearts. And then one day, there you were in my arms. I couldn't have dreamt of a more peaceful birth experience. It was just me and your daddy quietly waiting to see your face and to finally hold you. My beautiful rainbow baby. My little one. Here you are and already turning one. 🥺🥹
This year I have spent so many quiet moments just looking at you, trying to memorize every detail before time carries it away. Your chunky cheeks, your tiny chunky hands and feet, the way your fingers wrap around mine so tightly. I hold you and wish I could pause time, just to keep you like this a little longer. Every time you outgrow your clothes I quietly cry as I put it away remembering when you first wore that piece. I cry because I'll miss the tiny but also because I'm so grateful to see you grow into a healthy chunkers!

My wild one, full of life and ever so fearless. Your laughter fills our home in the most magical way, like you brought a light into our lives that we didn’t even know was missing until you arrived. It’s hard to believe the tiny baby I held a year ago is already turning one. I hope your life is the most beautiful adventure, full of joy, love, curiosity, and magic.

Happy first birthday, my baby. We wished for you, we waited for you, and now we get to love you every day.
