On October 5, during the SJC Jubilee, our building will be open for you to explore. If you haven't seen our co-working spaces or the Jackie Macaulay Gallery, this is the perfect opportunity!

Happy news at the SJC!💗

We are thrilled to announce that the plaque for our "Love & Missed Everyday" mural has finally been installed on the exterior of our building, facing the parking lot.

This mural is a heartfelt celebration of life in the Willy Street area. It portrays young neighbors who tragically lost their lives to violence, depicted here in happier times—skateboarding, playing guitar, sitting on the porch. While the mural showcases real individuals who left us too soon, it also represents the shared activities and connections that bind our community together.

Art plays a vital role in exposing our deeper humanity, illuminating how we relate to one another as a community and as a society. For those personally affected by the losses depicted here, we hope these portraits bring you comfort. For those who may have experienced these tragedies from a distance, we hope these portraits make the events and people depicted here tangible and real for you.

Come by and see the mural, read the plaque, and take a moment to reflect on the lives celebrated here. ❤️ by @sjcmadison
