Wonderful private view of the graduation exhibition. It all feels very surreal. 31/05/2024 by @sjellisart

Absolutely thrilled to say the lead singer of Cutting Crew, with top iconic single 'died in your arms' bought of my paintings through @liberationartgallery. Nick Van Eede, not only talented but a wonderful warm human being came to the gallery today to collect it. I feel so blessed to have his art hanging in his home. Here's to many more!! #cuttingcrew #cuttingcrewband #nickvaneede #art #artcollector #brighton #art #ukart #music #musician #abstractart #artgallery by @sjellisart

🖤🎸 HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!! 🎸🖤

I honestly can't believe I'm writing this… but MY ARTWORK HAS BEEN SIGNED BY EVANESCENCE!! 🤯✨

This is genuinely one of the biggest pinch-me moments of my artistic journey! To have a guitar I've transformed into a piece of art signed by such an iconic band, including the incredible Amy Lee, is an absolute dream!

I'm beyond excited that my guitar will be part of the Brighton Rocks exhibition at Helm Gallery, where it will be available to view from 5th December 2026, before going under the hammer in a charity auction supporting Harmonious Recovery! 🖤

Feeling incredibly proud, grateful and slightly overwhelmed! 🥹✨

Back in the studio today, exploring the idea of portals, other worlds and the presence of something unseen.

I began by experimenting with mist and atmosphere, allowing the painting to develop intuitively through movement, colour and light.

I've been interested in how a painting can suggest something mysterious without revealing exactly what it is. Is the light an opening, or is something emerging from it?

I like the idea of leaving that question unanswered and allowing the viewer to find their own interpretation.

An exploration of the space between the visible and the unknown. ✨

I wish I got better pics and videos of this. Surprisingly hard to capture how it looks in person. And the great thing about not seeing your art for some time, is when you look back it's not as shit as you remember 😅 I wish you could see the sparkles, would they even be notable under gallery lights? I'll let you into a little secret, one of the ultimate bands of my emo days (lets be real, have they even left 😅) had somehow agreed to sign my guitar! And they wernt bribed 😅 this guitar with many others also signed will be up for auction as part of a charity auction created by @myuhsussex during the winter. The money raised will be going straight to our local hospital to help many people, adults and children. So keep your eyes peeled for the auction and get ready to dig deep in your pockets. by @sjellisart
