Let’s clear something up (because we’ve been hearing it a lot lately):

We’ve had a few people walk into Skalka recently asking for khinkali or pastries… and we get it, that’s what Google still says. But truth is—we haven’t made those in a while.

Let’s rewind to December 2019. We hired a Georgian woman who was absolutely passionate about her cuisine. One day, she asked us to try something called khachapuri. Honestly, we were a little skeptical at first—but once we tried it… well, let’s just say it was love at first bite. 😍

From that moment on, we couldn’t get enough. We started making khachapuri every day. But we didn’t just stop there—we spent months perfecting the dough, the cheese filling, and the balance that makes it just right. Our team has tested, tweaked, and tasted so many versions to get to where we are today, and every day we feel more and more proud of what we’ve created.

Along the way, we made the decision to fully embrace khachapuri and let go of everything else on our menu. We stopped doing khinkali and pastries, because we realized—this is our thing. This is what we love to make and what you love to eat.

We know there’s still some outdated info online (Google, we’re looking at you 👀), and we’re working on clearing it up. But to set the record straight:

👉 We no longer sell khinkali or pastries.
👉 We’re all about khachapuri now. And we’re obsessed with making it the best it can be.

Thanks for sticking with us, for believing in this cheesy dream, and for letting us share our passion with you. We couldn’t do it without you. From our dough-covered hands to your table ❤️
