At the very end of last year, my band Første Kvartal put out our final quarterly release in the series Y24. For each quarter of 2024 we’ve been releasing a curated selection of music we’ve created during the quarter. The process of this quarter’s music, Y24/Q4, has been about sending music between each other, working at a distance. You can read some of my thoughts on the year long process on my pixelfed @skarv by @skarv6

The third quarterly release this year from the @1.kvartal project Y24 is out now. Y24/Q3 is made from improvisations on piano, guitar, electronics. We’re now heading into the final quater, approaching the end of the year and the project Y24. Out on Textur, link in bio. by @skarv6

Today we release the Skarv double single ‘Composite’ featuring ill and Nemo!

The double single comprises two distinct yet sonically linked tracks, both delving into the concept of softness through complementary sonic and lyric landscapes.

Composite is an excerpt from the Skarv album ‘Polymer Veil’, which will be out October 25th. It’s available for pre-order via Bandcamp 🤍 by @skarv6

Today my band Første Kvartal releases the first record in a series of four called Y24. The series will compound sound made during each quarter of 2024.

The compositions on this first part, Y24/Q1, are all the result of improvisations on cello, piano, electric guitar, synth and computer.

The series releases on Textur.

In conversation with @altoaria, I have made this rework of the closing track from their first album Tides.

This version, Time Stretches (Stretched Version), has been stretched to a 21 minute slow flowing walk, with Aria’s voice calling from the deep past.

The music comes from at hard place, but looks ahead, lighter, never ending, not really. Out now on @rhz000, 3 year label anniversary 🖤 Snowy sand landscape artwork by @skarv6
