Very grateful for a few great days away with the Marriage Collective at @winshaperetreat filled with time to learn, worship, eat great food, laugh (thank you Ted), and connect with my wife and great friends. One of the highlights of 2026.

Love seeing how God has His people all over this country strengthening marriages and families in such incredible ways. Thankful for this reminder over these past few days.

25 years ago today, I said, “I do.”

Our wedding day—9/15/01—was a beautiful gift at the end of a tragic, horrific, and stressful week for our nation. Thankfully, we pressed on and celebrated with our family and friends. I’m so deeply grateful for that day and for these 25 years. It’s hard to remember life before Kristen Kedersha.

Most days are pretty ordinary. But as Pam Beesly says in the final episode of The Office, “There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things.”

We’ve experienced plenty of ups and downs along the way: four sons—we couldn’t be prouder of the young men they’ve become—job changes, moves, lots of college football games and concerts, arguments and missed expectations, and a small army of friends who help keep us sane. But much of our life together has been ordinary and even boring.

And I would choose our “boring” marriage every day, all over again.

Last week, we saw NEEDTOBREATHE in concert. Thankfully, they played one of my favorite songs—and one of my favorite marriage songs—“Banks,” the song tagged in this post.

Kristen, I want to be everything for you that this song describes. I want to be the banks for your river—to hold you close and never hold you back.

But for the first time, as I listened that night, I laughed because I realized that you are all the things this song describes to me.

For 25 years, you have been there when the voices in my head make me feel like I’m losing my mind. When I look in the mirror and feel like I’m not enough, you break the mirrors. When the darkness closes in, you make the truth clearer.

And you’re also the one who cheers me on when I crush the day. When a book comes out, when we pull off a marriage conference, or when one of our kids does something amazing—you are the one by my side. And in the ordinary day by day, you are by my side.

You hold me close and never hold me back.

What an adventure.

Kristen—thank you for 25 amazing years. I can’t wait for the next 25. Thank you for being my second love.

God—thank You for my good thing and for 25 years’ worth of favor.

Had the best time in Atlanta and Auburn with @kkedersha and @linc_kedersha. College visit to the great @auburnu and got to watch Auburn-Baylor play in Atlanta. Lots of great food, laughs, and memories made with Kristen and Linc. And now headed back home to Texas with grateful hearts (except for the final score of the game). by @skedersha

Kristen and I are so excited to hit the road again this fall with FamilyLife @weekendtoremember in two great locations! We’re headed to Louisville and King of Prussia and we’re pumped.

Freedom is not free. Was reminded of that repeatedly over the last few days as @kkedersha and I got away for 4 days to Washington DC for an early celebration of 25 years of marriage (actually anniversary 9/15/01). We had an incredible time touring our nations capital. We walked (a lot), feasted, enjoyed time with some new friends, laughed, and cried some as we celebrated God’s kindness to us and mourned at times over our nation and world. Got to see evidence of God’s work at The Museum of the Bible and at @kingschurchdc.

Saw lots of massive buildings and were both humbled at how much history we’ve forgotten. Didn’t see POTUS but we saw where he lives (kind of). Lots of security measures these days!!

Grateful for those who gave their lives to fight for our freedoms. Thankful for memorials to remind us of their sacrifice for our freedom.

Kristen - can’t wait for the next 25 years! You keep getting better and better and love being married to you and being on mission with you. Love you more. Wdyk. by @skedersha

What a week! Celebrated the wedding of the sweetest couple- @reese.c.atkins and @maddie.m.atkins. Excited for them as they begin this next chapter together!

Got to visit @carsonkedersha at @pc_woods. So thankful for how the Lord continues to grow and use Carson at camp!

@linc_kedersha spent a great week in Colorado with a group of friends and adults hiking, fishing, and growing spiritually. Much to be thankful for!! (And missed @drewkedersha!). by @skedersha

Thank you, Lord, for @pc_woods and @pinecovecamps . Thank you for being a Christ-centered and seriously fun place for me and my family since our first year in 2013. Thank you for investing in our growth, for old and new friendships, and for pouring into our kids/young men.

Thank you for your investment in college students and for the ways counselors serve, sweat, and bring us joy. Thank you for the investment you’ve made in Duncan, Drew, and Carson.

Week 2 Woods was a blast. Loved getting to encourage families and marriages alongside @kkedersha. The best partner in life and ministry anyone can ask for. Week 2 brought great families and great counselors and of course an even greater God.

Bringing home a little trophy as well. Right, @linc_kedersha?!? Until next year! We’ll be ready to grow, laugh, cry, and dance again. by @skedersha

22 years ago @duncankedersha and @drewkedersha gave me one of my most cherished and beloved titles I will ever possess: Dad. One of the greatest and joys and privileges of my life has been raising these two young men.

Duncan and Drew - I am so thankful to be your Dad. Before I knew you and before I held you I loved you. @kkedersha and I are so proud of the young men you have become. We are cheering you on this new season of life. The Lord is so Kind!

What a joy to get to celebrate @duncankedersha this weekend and his graduation from our local beloved @bayloruniversity.

@kkedersha and I cannot be more thankful for all the ways we’ve seen Duncan grow these last four years - relationally with the best group of friends, spiritually in all ways, academically, and so much more. The Lord has been so kind.

The best days are ahead, Duncan. Welcome back home to Dallas! So deeply grateful to be your dad. by @skedersha

Lots of happiness as we got to celebrate @drewkedersha graduating from @belmontu yesterday.

@kkedersha and I are so encouraged by our young man. He has worked so hard, led with integrity, and taken full advantage of every opportunity offered to him at Belmont. Grateful for the friends he’s made, for @ethoschurch, and for the memories he’s made over these four years.

CLC26 is in the books and it was an incredible week. Love being back on staff @watermarkchurch with the @watermarkresources team, welcoming 4000 church leaders from across the country and world to Watermark for 4 days of worship, equipping, fun, feasting, and so much more.

Love being a part of this gifted team, seeing them use their gifts to serve others and Witness to God’s goodness and kindness. And so fun to get to serve together with @kkedersha !

Can’t wait to do it again in 2027!!
