🎭 Meet our Assistant Director and Lighting Designer, Khaviya Skanthan (@skhaviya) — JUST. INCREDIBLE. One of most thoughtful people you’ll meet!

A first-year Cinema & Media Arts student at York University, Khaviya brings a fresh and intuitive eye to the world of lighting and mood.

Her love for photography and storytelling shines through every carefully directed scene on stage.

In high school, she co-wrote and co-directed the play *Try As I Might*, and she hopes to become a scriptwriter in the future.

For now, she’s making magic with lights — and helping Omkarra glow from within.

I'm back!!!

I was too bored to not post stuff so here's an elephant! I'm probably not going to post everyday, but I'll try to post as often as I can.

“What is left after war is silence: The silence of the death; the silence of the debris; the silence of the birds! After war even the screams of sadness are silent because the pain is in the very depths of the soul.”
- Mehmet Murat ildan

You might have thought that I started this journey to show off some pictures that I took, and you're partially right.

But the reason why I did this in the first place is to slowly get enough attention and followers by posting my pictures.

The plan was that I'd post pictures every day, and post my final picture on May 18, to bring awareness to the genocide of my people.

The civil war started as a result of the Sri Lankan government persecuting Tamil individuals by:
- Making laws and decisions that excluded us from important decisions
- Making the passing rate higher for Tamil students (e.g. if the average student had to get 50% to pass something, Tamil kids had to get 70%)
- Attacking/murdering civilians under the name of 'anti terrorism'
- And many more horrifying things!

The Tamil people have been actively persecuted for decades, even 13 years after the war ended. Over 200,000+ civilians have been murdered or forcibly disappeared, and the number is estimated to be much, much higher. Especially considering that thousands are still missing.

Went to yoghurtys recently. That was certainly enough sugar to power me for a week.
