✨🎭 DID SOMEONE SAY…OMKARRA WRAP PARTY!? 🎭✨ Last night, the Omkarra team came together one to celebrate — not in rehearsal, not on stage, but in a room full of music, food, laughter, and memories that will stay with us forever. 💛 Here’s to everyone who poured their talent, time, and soul into Omkarra, and to the audiences who joined us for the ride. The curtain may have fallen, but the connections we made will carry on. Thank you for being part of this chapter — we can’t wait to see where the next one takes us. 🌙💐 #Omkarra #ThatsAWrap #SouthAsianTheatre #OthelloReimagined #TheatreFamily #ClosingNightFeels #BehindTheScenesMagic #OnwardsAndUpwards

✨TYK’S FIRST-EVER REVIEW IS IN — AND WE’RE SO GRATEFUL! ✨ We’re so honoured by Istvan Dugalin’s (@istvandugalin) beautiful review of Omkarra. 🥹🫶 Istvan Dugalin’s thoughts on Omkarra honours the lyricism, emotion, and care behind the work. He describes it as “striking and poetic,” with “genuinely compelling” dialogue and performances that evoke “a community of flawed humans wrestling with their own foibles.” From Anuradha Grover-Tejpal’s sharp and spiritual Maya to Shriyanshi Quanoonongo and Yash Patel’s fierce onstage chemistry, Istvan Dugalin captured the magic of our team and the soul of our story. This is such a generous, in-depth review of our first production — a story of love, loss, culture, and consequence. It’s amazing to see the work of our cast and creative team reflected with such care. 📍Read the full review via the link in our bio #Omkarra #TheatreYaKnowww #TYK #SouthAsianTheatre #OthelloReimagined #VaughanTheatre #YorkUniversity #IndieTheatre

🎭 Meet our Assistant Director and Lighting Designer, Khaviya Skanthan (@skhaviya) — JUST. INCREDIBLE. One of most thoughtful people you’ll meet! A first-year Cinema & Media Arts student at York University, Khaviya brings a fresh and intuitive eye to the world of lighting and mood. Her love for photography and storytelling shines through every carefully directed scene on stage. In high school, she co-wrote and co-directed the play *Try As I Might*, and she hopes to become a scriptwriter in the future.   For now, she’s making magic with lights — and helping Omkarra glow from within.   #OMKARRA #LightingDesigner #CreativeTeam #SouthAsianVoices #RepresentationMatters #WomenInTech #BehindTheScenes #VaughanArts #CanadianTheatre #YorkUniversity #InclusiveTheatre #EmergingArtists #PerformingArtsCanada #StageLighting #VisualStorytelling #ArtInVaughan #SupportLocalTheatre #CinemaAndMediaArts #NewVoices #TechInTheatre #BIPOCArtists
