Well… hello, winter. ❄️

We picked up about 10–12" overnight, with more snow expected throughout the day. We know this one probably won’t stick around, but we’re still pretty excited to see the mountain turn white again. 🤍🎿

Long before Great Divide, a group of Helena skiers looked at Mt. Belmont and decided to build something.

They couldn’t have known how many generations would learn to ski here, how much the mountain would grow, or how much the world would change around it.

The lifts, trails and name have changed — but the idea is still the same:

A place for our community to ski.
A place to bring your kids.
A place to spend winter together.

We hope those original Belmont skiers would be proud.

Meet Avalanche — Great Divide lodge patrol. 🐾

Favorite patrol zones: anywhere near chicken strips or burgers.
Favorite trick: convincing everyone he is absolutely starving.
Favorite weather: snowing hard enough that any reasonable dog would go inside.

Avy is ready to welcome everyone back to the lodge this winter. We’re pretty sure he thinks it’s his job.

Season lease appointments open tomorrow at noon!

Starting Wednesday, September 16 at 12 PM, you can book your fitting appointment online at skigd.com.

Fittings begin October 3 and are available every Saturday + Sunday from 10 AM–4 PM until ski season begins.

Pick your appointment, come in for your fitting, and we’ll get your equipment set for the season.

There are ski days you remember because the snow was perfect.

And then there are the ones you remember because you rode the chairlift with your dad, finally kept up with your big sister, met your friends at the lodge, or skied the same run until your legs gave out.

Great Divide has always been more than a place to ski.

It’s the mountain you grow up on.

Winter is built in the summer. 🌲❄️

Trail work, lift maintenance, summer events, weddings— plenty of prep for the season ahead.

And we have to admit… the mountain looks pretty good even without her winter coat.
