Saturday brought the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, but a little wind and rain weren’t going to keep us off the water! We headed to Percy Priest Lake and were thrilled to both land a bass!

Sunday was all about family adventures on the Elk River, with one of Ridley’s baseball buddies joining us! The boys spent the day exploring, catching crawfish, and occasionally casting a line. We rounded out the day with both of us catching trout, but Tim stole the show with a MONSTER 20-inch tanker! 🐟🔥

From bass in the rain to trout and crawfish adventures, these are the weekends we live for! ❤️

I’ve always enjoyed fishing, but over the past few years, I’ve found a renewed spirit and love for it. 🎣

Catching any fish is fun, but there’s just something about bass. They’re strong, aggressive, and SO much fun to catch—especially on a fly rod. If I have my choice, I’m chasing them on the fly every time. There’s nothing quite like feeling a bass hit a fly and then fighting it all the way in.

But sometimes you’ve gotta put down the fly rod, grab the trusty spinner, and catch ’em however they’re willing to bite. 😂

At the end of the day, it’s not just about the fish. It’s the water, the quiet, the challenge, the places it takes you, and that feeling you get every time you cast a line.

Rounded our trip out with you guessed it more trout fishing in @evergreencolorado Where I caught 12 trout. Finished the night with probably the best concert of our lives! @brandicarlile @stephen.Wilson.jr and @alanis We both cried, it was amazing! @twotonepepper first trip to Colorado has wrecked him but in a good way! I think we both had a spiritual experience while there! Best anniversary trip and we will be back! Too many trouts to catch and too many places to fish! Wrapping up Steamboat at Steamboat lake with a monster 6lber that snapped the line. Dinner at Hazie’s @steamboatresort and more @cousincurtiss and @harrisonbmusic A 4:45 am wake up call to hit Crosho lake to hunt grayling and more trouts. Loved being in the middle of no where in complete solitude, accept for a few elk hunters in the woods behind us. Followed by more fishing on the confluence of the Colorado and Blue River with a drive through the continental divide, and fishing Clear Creek River before being back in Denver. by @skylervarrick

Colorado and #flyfishing part one!!! Flew into @visitdenver drove to @silverthornecolorado stopped at @cutthroatanglers to pick up some advice and flies. Fished behind the shop and then grabbed a cup of Joe from @redbuffalocafe and continued on our journey for a few more fish stops on the Blue River before heading to our final destination of Steamboat to see our best friend @harrisonbmusic and @cousincurtiss rock it out for two nights! The last seven photos are the Yampa River through downtown, Pearl Lake and finally Steamboat Lake! Saturday was spent soaking up the sun, riding slides, and having an absolute blast at @soakymountain ! 🌊 Then Sunday somehow topped it with a day fishing the beautiful Little River in Townsend. 🎣🏔️

The Weekenders IV, this time we hit the Caney. Stayed at the dam and worked our way to Stone Wall. We each caught a trout first in at the dam. I snagged three more and they jumped the hook as I reeled them in. @twotonepepper caught his second one at Stone Wall. All in all a great day! Water temps hovered around 52 degrees. Fished the first half in the rain and started getting too cold, even my nail beds were turning blue, so off to the car to remove my soaked fishing shirt and to warm up in the heat! #trout #flysfishing #ladyfisher #tnflyfishing taken in Caney Fork River by @skylervarrick
