If you're new around here or just passing through, hello! Hi, I'm Sam. I wrote a contemporary romance, The Hope of You, in 2022, and I'm still talking about it like it's a new release.

Imagining the readers THOY could reach if it had an illustrated cover...

I went into this experience, writing, creating, and publishing... Made some good decisions and undervalued others.

Illustrated covers always meant one thing to me in romance. I knew what I was getting. Graphics or abstract covers meant another. And covers with couples, models, or man chests meant another, both contemporary and historical.

Anyway, just a little creative reflection and playing around in Canva.

Whenever I think I've just posted, it ends up being a week, a few weeks... I have no real sense of time lately. Summer is typically disorienting for me, and this season, even more.

I haven't stopped thinking about AJ & Noah and Into The Blue! I love, love, love their story and growing up on the East Coast, all of the familiar places and nostalgia.

One of the best parts of reading this book was how it left me feeling the same way that Synchronicity felt. Like I just got to witness this intimate glimpse into these characters lives.

If you love Synchronicity, you'll love Into The Blue and if you love Into The Blue, you should definitely read Synchronicity!

John Lennon recorded this song in 1971. Ten years before I arrived, right after he was violently taken from us. His words, message, and music are as timely and as powerful today as they were then.

We all have a heart connection to the artists who reach us through their creativity and expressions.

And when all of the social constructs melt away, John reveals there is nothing to fight over. Nothing to fear.

We call this song art. One voice. Hope.
It's recognition of our humanity. Vital.

So I'll keep dreaming (and caring about people across the world)
