With great sadness, we let our followers know that we lost our beloved studio pup, Coulter today. She was a rescue and was saved on her last day during the weekend of the Nashville flood in May of 2010. She was a few months old at the time, so, that makes her a sweet sixteen dog and we loved her for every minute of all of those years. She made memories that I will never forget, and gave our studio here extra love and warmth that our clients know very well.

Rest easy girl, the lord knows how much we miss you already. Tell Brindle Lee I miss her, too when you reunite. You are now with all of my family that have gone on before and they will make sure you are blessed with everything you need beyond this realm.

I've added a fundraiser for Agape so that Coulter can help give other pups a beautiful life just like she had. Thank you so much to those who generously donate in her honor. She was a one of a kind. Nipper, our studio pittie and I are missing her deeply tonight. by @slackkeystudio

I don't buy many plugins anymore, but this @retroinstrumentsinc STA from @kazrog is splendid. I'm using all my other hardware 6386 based vari mu compressors on a large track count mix, so, I thought I'd try it and bought it immediately. I suggest everyone who makes records do so. They're even on sale right now. Great work, @kazrog! by @slackkeystudio

Wrapped up a weekend of recording in Nashville with @randykohrs at @slackkeystudio and of course we used Phil Bradburys @littlewaltertubeamps

So happy to have a new jewel around here in the form of a 10 watt King Arthur from @littlewaltertubeamps. It’s a fantastic table top amp design. It’s not wirey and thin like all of the vintage small watt amps tend to be. This one has a great saturation point that allows a very versatile range of tones for different styles. 12 o’clock on the volume and 2 o’clock on the tone seemed to be the magic zone with the Scheerhorn lapsteel I tried it with. It takes pedals extremely well and could easily handle a big jazz box and still be squeaky clean but warm, too. 10/10 for me. by @slackkeystudio

The Orbam 622B. A perfectly filthy drum eq that shouldn’t be ignored… by @slackkeystudio

Binson PA602-8 Pre Echo Mixer
Restored to original glory for @randykohrs at @slackkeystudio. He’s got a studio full of vintage equipment that would bring your pants to their knees 👖. Hit him up and go make records 👌 by @slackkeystudio

Laying down some harmony this evening with a mic built by @prestontatewhite at @ptw_audio. This mic belongs to @bryansdietz but I’m gonna have to get me one. by @slackkeystudio
