Happy to share my latest audio (and video 🤯) baby with the world. Tap into Let The Record Show - a U.S. history podcast that looks back on legal precedent to make sense of our ever-evolving future.

On every episode we explore the people, places and stories behind major court cases that shaped how we live our lives today. Much like my other work - It’s nerdy, entertaining and important.

Let the Record Show is Executive Produced by yours truly and ushered into this world by host of multitalented people I’m honored to call my team 🙂‍↕️

When In Those Genes host Janina Jeff Ringo learned she was pregnant with her first child, she knew almost immediately she wanted a home birth with a Black midwife. What she didn't know was how hard that would be to find.

In the final episode of our Genetics of Reproduction series, your favorite neighborhood Geneti-SIS @djaysquared shares her own birthing journey and what ultimately led to her decision to give birth at home.

We also talk with nurse midwife and birth advocate Nicole Deggins, CNM, MSN, MPH @sistamidwife about why birthing moved from the home to the hospital in the first place, and with birth equity researcher Monica R. McLemore, RN, MPH, PhD @mclemoremr about the realities of birthing while Black and what a birthing "Green Book" needs to include.

Our team put a lot of love and care into this one 💜 Link in bio to listen!

For as long as Vena Moore can remember, she’s had painful periods.

It started in fifth grade – earlier than most. Years later, she learned why: fibroids growing in her uterus.

So when Vena entered perimenopause in her late 30s, she found the change freeing and firmly embraced it.

In the next episode of our Genetics of Reproduction series, we dive into the science behind why Black people tend to start puberty earlier than others with pediatrician Dr. Sarah-Ann Anderson-Burnett @drsarahannab, discuss what scientists know about the genetic and environmental factors behind fibroids with board-certified OBGYN Dr. Veronica Gillispie-Bell @drveronicawomenshealth, and hear from Omisade Burney-Scott @omisadeburneyscott, founder of the @blackgirlsguidetomenopause, about how we can normalize menopause and support the people going through it.

The first episode of our Genetics of Reproduction series drops TODAY! ✨✨

To kick off the series, we dive into the science behind puberty, following @arrowsfitz journey from puberty into adulthood and the years of symptoms that ultimately led to him being diagnosed with Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (formerly Polycystic Ovary Syndrome/PCOS).

We break down why puberty is a lot like the New York City subway system: kind of messy and hardly ever on schedule. And dig into the role genetics plays in PMOS, the unanswered scientific questions about PMOS in Black communities, and why turning 35 doesn't automatically close the door to pregnancy with Sarah-Ann Anderson-Burnett, MD @drsarahannab and Monica R. McLemore,RN, MPH, PhD @mclemoremr.

Went from years of watching games alone trying to convince friends and family that this “power of friendship” Knicks team was on the cusp of something magical. Convinced many over the years and spent these past 10 weeks watching with family and friends old and new. & then got to celebrate front and center with 2 million of my neighbors. What a dream. Love this team. Love my loves. Love my city!!!!!! 🥹🧡💙 taken in Canyon of Heroes by @slamridd

10 years ago, when my mom was dying of cancer your grandma (my great aunt) visited my mom and I in Queens. I’ll always remember her brightening up me and my moms day by telling us so many beautiful stories about you and her traveling together. I thought damn my cousin is cool as hell. But we never quite got a chance to connect.

One day, 8 years later, after running into each other at random nyc functions and family events (mostly funerals smh) we struck up a conversation about everything from Palestine to the NY Liberty. Idk why the hell it took so long to have a real good yap sesh but my life changed for the better once we did. We soon discovered we had so much in common. “The same person in different fonts” as you called it.

In about 2 years we went from drunkenly catching up on decades worth of our personal lore to operating a whole political advocacy group together (?!) It has been an amazing ride connecting with you, building with you, loving you and being loved by you. You are a multi hyphenated phenom, THEE princess of NYC and also literally just a girl. Thank you for introducing me to every beautiful side of you and letting me be not only your cousin but your friend.

Growing close to you these past few years will forever be one of my life’s greatest joys. And caring for you in your final days will always be an honor of my lifetime. I am so incredibly lucky to have been blessed with to a superstar cousin like you.

I’m beyond devastated our time together was cut short but so so grateful for the time we had. I’ll love you always. by @slamridd
