When you improve your Spanish just to edit a #weddingfilm 🇪🇸

The moment I met this couple on the shooting day, I felt it immediately.

They had that rare combination of fiery passion and effortless elegance. A little bit of chili pepper. A little bit of aristocracy. Strong character, charisma, chemistry - all wrapped in style.

And suddenly I knew:

This film needed Spanish music.

There was only one problem.

I don’t speak Spanish.

I speak five languages, and because of Italian I can understand a little Spanish, but not enough to edit a story around song lyrics.

So I started with intuition.

I chose the music by feeling first. Then I spent hours translating lyrics, understanding meanings, and remixing four different music pieces into one cinematic story.

Little by little, the songs revealed something unexpected: they were telling the same story I had witnessed through my camera.

Every musical phrase, every lyric, every transition became part of the narrative.

So here’s my invitation:

I just realized something about the way we sometimes try to change ourselves.

We cut our bangs.
Change our hair.
Buy something we’ve been thinking about for five minutes.
Rearrange our space.
Start looking for something new.

And sometimes, I think, it’s not really about any of those things.

Maybe we don’t actually want new hair.
Or new clothes.
Or another beautiful thing to add to our lives.

Maybe we just desperately want to feel that something is changing.

That we’re moving forward.
That we’re becoming someone new (or finding the old version of yourself).
That something inside us is different.

And maybe that’s why impulse shopping can feel so satisfying in the moment. It’s not always about the thing we’re buying. Sometimes it’s about the feeling we imagine it will give us.

So I’ve decided to try something different.

For the next six months, I’m not buying clothes, cosmetics, jewelry or other things I don’t genuinely need.

Not as a challenge.
Not as a punishment.
And definitely not because there’s anything wrong with wanting beautiful things.

I just want to see what happens when, instead of buying something new whenever I feel the urge for change, I ask myself:

What is it that I actually want to change? Maybe the real change has to happen somewhere else.

Shit happens. 😂

Today was supposed to be a 7-Gipfel-Tour at Flumserberg.

It turned into:
lost sunglasses,
three and a half hours without internet,
no people in sight,
a 2.5–3 hour detour,
a ridiculous amount of blueberries and lingonberries (no cranberries, sorry)
and me running through the mountains to catch the very last gondola.

The funny thing is… most of it was avoidable.

I should have started at 9 AM, as recommended for this route. Instead, I only started around 10.

Then I lost my sunglasses and went back looking for them.

Then I discovered blueberries.

Then lingonberries.

And, obviously, I had to stop and collect some because apparently I am now a mountain hiker AND a person who makes homemade jam. 🫐

And then I got lost.

Very lost.

At some point, I realized there was no way I was going to finish the full route before the last gondola. So I changed the plan, cut the route short and switched from hiking mode to survival mode.

The last part was supposed to take around 1.5 hours.

I did it in about 50 minutes.

Running.

Because apparently nothing motivates me quite like the fear of being stranded on a mountain. 😂

I didn’t finish the 7 peaks.

But I made it back.

And I came home with a story, a slightly questionable amount of bruised dignity, and enough lingonberries to make jam.

So… I’d say it was still a successful Sunday.

Lesson learned: start early. Respect the mountain. And maybe don’t stop for every berry you see. @amazingswitzerland

Switzerland already held a special place in their story, as it was here that Nathan proposed to Anna. They returned to Switzerland for an intimate celebration at the breathtaking Villa Honegg, creating memories that will stay with them forever.

Today, they celebrate with their beloved family and friends in England. 🥂

You give yourself a deadline, the film is already done…
and yet you spend the entire weekend color-grading it again - turning heat-burnt yellow grass into rich emerald green 🌿 and masking out every little green reflection on skin and clothes.

Because apparently, “good enough” is not a color grade 🙈

Taking a little summer break. While I’m officially on holiday until August 14, I’ll still be happily tucked away in my editing bubble, creating beautiful wedding films behind the scenes.

To fully recharge and stay present, I’m taking a social media & WhatsApp detox during this time. I won’t be checking messages, but I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I’m back.

I guess everyone reaches a point in life when they have to face something that has been with them for years - something that became a huge part of who they are.

You gave it everything: your heart, your passion, your time, your energy, even your health.

And one day you look back and all you can see is scorched ground behind you.

You can’t close your eyes anymore and pretend everything is fine.

Sometimes you have to make the cut.
To step forward.
To thank yourself for everything you gave.
And to forgive yourself for not reaching the stars you were chasing.

Maybe letting go isn’t failure.
Maybe it’s the beginning of finally coming home to yourself.

People often see the final film (find it at the end of this reel).

Or a few seconds of me dancing between projects (my source of inspiration).

What they don’t see are the countless hours behind the screen - editing, planning, answering emails, refining ideas, running a business.

The visible part is beautiful.

But the invisible part is what makes it possible.

And honestly… I love both 🖤

People often admire the final result.

The dance.
The film.
The performance.

What they don’t see are the hundreds of tiny corrections, the same movement repeated over and over, and the willingness to stay a beginner a little longer.

As a filmmaker, I see the same pattern in every craft I love.

Mastery isn’t built in big moments.

It’s built in quiet repetition.

One step.
One frame.
One lesson at a time.
