Stuck In My Ways

It lives inside a mind that can’t find rest. Thoughts blur into reality, turning familiar spaces into something heavy and unsafe. It begins and ends the same, reminding us that even when the chaos is only in our head, the weight of it is real.

The long wait is finally over !! ( literally 2 days lol) ! This piece highlights 3 different dynamics of oppression & displays how heavy it is to wear these titles on a daily basis . Let it sink in & Enjoy!

Hey y’all! We back at it! This piece was inspired by @faisaomer_ ‘s amazing idea to collaborate myself with 2 super talented poets who happen to all be Somali & Canadian. So we share our experience ! Shoutout to @omarfarah @t.imiro for bodying this!!! As well as @faisaomer_ & @moose_416 for using their talents to make us look good 😎 by @slaveofmostwise

Back with another one ! This piece is about an issue we face within our families & especially in the Black Community. The first part is the mother who speaks as a woman whose sacrificed so much for her son only for him to throw his life away. The second part is the son who has no affiliation but gets treated as such & has to deal with the pressure of his parents. Huge S/O to @moose_416 @sof_star @faisaomer_ & @sumayasoufi for working so hard on this project! Enjoy Y’all!

This is a poem about a topic we take lightly & I wanted to touch on it. So if you can relate, or never realized the severity of it, this is for you! Enjoy!
