Singing and performing arts are Mikko’s first love and passion. He is inspired by his mama Margie and papa Conrad Jr. In the Philippines, he was challenged to do theatre & amateur singing competitions locally and nationally. With no formal training, Mikko was able to land lead roles for local productions like Tom Galvez with 14 original productions of Kindred Hearts 2 in 2010 and Marius Pontmercy, Lés Miserablés with 30 full adaptations all over Cebu & Bohol in 2011 onwards. He is a 3-time Region 7 Leg Semi-Finalist of OPM@Pagcor’s National Talent Competition. Mikko pursued his nursing career in 2011, and decided to emigrate to the UK in 2015. Living in London with his family, he continues to relive and reignite his love and passion for music and enjoy life’s highs and lows. 🇵🇭

Franco is a Filipino-Welsh artist based in Oxford who considers himself, primarily, a rock musician that enjoys exploring any genre that takes his fancy at any given moment. While the metal and funk sounds of the late ‘60s and early ‘70 taken in Oxo Tower Wharf by @slay.brahim

We’re back again with another edition of Function at @starbethgreen! With summer season in full swing, we’re so excited to have the legendary @loveyouinthemorning joining us for a little pre-Carni shutdown, to get you in the mood for the best weekend of the year.

Expect sound system classics, along with some left field selections to get you warmed up for the real thing.

LYAM is an enigmatic East London songwriter; also known as loveyouinthemorning. A boundary defying new voice for the UK, making a blend of experimental UK rap, dance and sound system culture. As a mixed-media creative, this cinematic artist sees music as a blank canvas for sound design to create “worlds within worlds”.

Support from kayfabe, recently playing two nights at Louis Vuitton Hotel London and @to.know.others resident DJ at Voices Radio.

🔮 @okami_zone 🔮

Named after the Japanese word for wolf, ŌKAMI is the side project of artist Kamī — a space where sound becomes a vessel for connection, liberation, and exploration. Her sets move effortlessly between the sub-heavy worlds of dubstep, grime, drill, and jungle, while weaving in dancehall, bhangra, gqom, Asian club sounds, baile funk, and ballroom with unmistakable energy and attitude.

Welcome to the Function, see you on the dance floor 🤝 by @slay.brahim

Nowhere truly does summer like London, living it large at the day festivals, heading to the supermarket to get picky bits and tinnies to sit in the park with your mates; there’s something for all of us.

We’re here to give you that regular feel, somewhere where you can dance the night away with great music, but also wake up the next morning not feeling like you’ve burnt a hole in your wallet.

Welcome to the Function!

A curated selection of DJs from the spaces we hang out in, along with some fun friends and guests along the way. Like any good party, we were going to cater to all – from songs you can sing along to, to that deep house cut that you’ll be digging SoundCloud for the hook up.

Get ready to hear the best music in Bethnal and bounce the night away!

From us, to you
