After years of hard work, the Community Clean Energy Program (CCEP) is launching in January 2027!

Renewable energy is an investment in healthier communities, stronger economies, and future generations. That's why Salt Lake City is participating in the Community Clean Energy Program: to give you the choice of reliable, affordable, net-100% renewable electricity.

Learn more about the CCEP and Salt Lake City’s renewable energy goals at our link in bio.

The Community Clean Energy Program is launching soon! Rocky Mountain Power will mail your first notices about the program in November. Then, in January, nearly all Rocky Mountain Power customers in Salt Lake City will be automatically enrolled in the program with the option to opt out at any time.

The program adds an additional $4 to your household’s monthly electricity bill. Businesses and other organizations will pay a monthly rate based on electricity use.

The money you pay will support the dedicated build-out of new, large-scale renewable energy specifically for our electricity demand. by @slcdistrict6

Let's make sure we all enjoy a happy and safe Halloween! 🎃

Thank you to everyone who came out to our District 6 Town Hall last week! Special thanks to Planning Division Director Nick Norris and Lindsey Nikola, deputy chief of staff for @slcmayor, for sharing updates on housing, short-term rentals and upcoming events. And to every resident who joined us, thank you for your time, your questions, and your feedback. They help shape the work we do for our community. by @slcdistrict6

Neighbors, artists and city staff all showed up for Donner Park’s grand reopening last week. 🌳

Now that the park is open, you can enjoy improvements like updated playgrounds, water-wise landscaping, a new art installation, amenities and new trees for the soon-to-be Memorial Tree Grove. by @slcdistrict6

We have another garden reopening of a beautiful park in our city which means another very exciting Park Tour Tuesday! 🌳🎥

This month we’re looking at Donner Trail Park. This park is historically significant to our Salt Lake Valley as it honors the path of the I’ll-fated Donner-Reed party who traveled through Emigration Canyon and the Wasatch Mountains in 1846 on their way to California.

The newly renovated space has more abilities playgrounds, a beautiful new public art piece by artist Adam Kuby, and plans to house the city’s first memorial tree grove!

With the leaves starting to change and the incredible view of the Foothills, now is the perfect time to check it out (and if you come on a Sunday, join us for Pilates in the Park)! 🤩🍁 by @slcdistrict6

Parents, we all want our kids to have fun and make it home safely. Before they head out on an E-motorcycle, take a minute to know what they’re riding and make sure they understand the rules. E-motorcycles require a license, a motorcycle endorsement and specific safety equipment—and even then, they’re not always street legal. Let’s all do our part in keeping our streets—and our kids—safe. by @slcdistrict6

ICYMI: Salt Lake City is a long-standing member of Utah Renewable Communities: a group of 16 local communities across Utah working with @rockymountainpower to launch the Community Clean Energy Program. The Program will give Salt Lakers the power to choose affordable, net-100% renewable electricity, supporting healthier families, communities and the environment.

Early next year, Rocky Mountain Power customers in Salt Lake City will be automatically enrolled in the Program with the option to opt out. Participating households will pay an extra $4 on their monthly Rocky Mountain Power bill. Households enrolled in Rocky Mountain Power’s Home Electric Lifeline Program (HELP) will participate for free. The best way to get on HELP is to apply for the Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) program and automatically receive the benefits of both offerings.
