After years of hard work, the Community Clean Energy Program (CCEP) is launching in January 2027! Renewable energy is an investment in healthier communities, stronger economies, and future generations. That's why Salt Lake City is participating in the Community Clean Energy Program: to give you the choice of reliable, affordable, net-100% renewable electricity. Learn more about the CCEP and Salt Lake City’s renewable energy goals at our link in bio. ### The Community Clean Energy Program is launching soon! Rocky Mountain Power will mail your first notices about the program in November. Then, in January, nearly all Rocky Mountain Power customers in Salt Lake City will be automatically enrolled in the program with the option to opt out at any time. The program adds an additional $4 to your household’s monthly electricity bill. Businesses and other organizations will pay a monthly rate based on electricity use. The money you pay will support the dedicated build-out of new, large-scale renewable energy specifically for our electricity demand. by @slccouncil

Another step forward for Ballpark. ⚾ The Salt Lake City Council has approved zoning changes for the Ballpark and surrounding city-owned properties, aligning the zoning with the Ballpark Community Design Plan. The changes prepare the area for future redevelopment envisioned through the Ballpark NEXT process, including new places to live, shop, eat, and gather, while supporting the public spaces and neighborhood connections that are central to the plan. The zoning also requires active ground-floor uses, such as shops and restaurants, along a portion of 1300 South. This doesn't mean construction starts tomorrow. There is still considerable work ahead. Redevelopment will happen over time and through multiple phases. But each step moves Ballpark from a community-developed vision toward implementation. The vision is set. Now we're preparing Ballpark for what's next. by @slccouncil
Each year, the city receives funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help address local issues. The funds have touched the lives of so many residents over the decades — providing pathways to homeownership, building new green spaces like Three Creeks Confluence, supporting affordable access to healthcare for seniors and more! Want to have a say in how we spend this year’s funds? Join us—in person or online—on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. to weigh in on how the city can best use this funding. Tap the link in bio to learn more and share your thoughts online. We are deeply concerned about HF Sinclair’s Westline Connect proposal through Salt Lake City. While we will stay at the table to learn more, the proposal today is incongruent with our shared responsibility to protect residents, visitors, drinking water, and the Great Salt Lake from serious environmental hazards. We have requested that HF Sinclair provide more information on impacts to watershed, groundwater recharge areas, streams, hospitals, residential, and other sensitive areas. Based on the information provided today, there are no compelling benefits–only risks–for Salt Lakers. by @slccouncil

Before heavy rain, our Public Utilities crews proactively clear storm drains and grates to help rainwater flow where it needs to go. This helps reduce flooding on streets and in neighborhoods. Want to pitch in? Here’s how you can help: - Keep storm drains near your home clear of leaves, litter, and debris. - Don’t dump trash, oils, or chemicals into storm drains. - Report clogged or damaged storm drains to the City through mySLC or by calling 801-483-6700. by @slccouncil
