Post Worlds Depression is REAL. 🥲💔⚡️

It’s officially been exactly one week since I picked up our Pokémon Worlds badges, and I gotta say… I’m still not over it.

Pokémon has been a huge part of my life since I was 7 years old. From watching the anime, playing the games, collecting cards, and dreaming about becoming a Pokémon Trainer, it’s given me so many core childhood memories.

And now, all these years later, I somehow got to experience Pokémon Worlds in my hometown of San Francisco alongside my better half. ❤️

The 7-year-old version of me could have never imagined this.

I’ve been rocking all my Pokémon Center merch like it’s a full-time job 😂, but going back through all the pictures and videos has really made me reminisce about the entire experience.

The crowds. The excitement. The nostalgia. The Pokémon everywhere. But most importantly, the memories we created together and the community as a whole

Pokémon didn’t just stay a part of my childhood… it grew up with me.

It was there in my past, it’s still a huge part of my present, and I have a feeling it’ll be part of my future too.

Being able to create new Pokémon memories with my wife and add them to my memory bank is something I’ll always cherish. ❤️

Who knows if this was our first and last Pokémon XP, but I’m just damn grateful we got to experience it and for my city to be the host. SF 415 WE BACK BBY! 🌁

if you told that little kid watching Pokémon every Saturday morning on Kids WB that one day he’d be attending @pokemon Worlds in San Francisco… he wouldn’t believe you.

from watching the anime to collecting cards, Pokémon has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I’m doing this for that little kid who fell in love with Pokémon all those years ago. ❤️

Before the night ends, I just wanna give a big shoutout to my brotha @jv_pblifter for going into battle with me today esp in the condition you were playing in. Much love and mad respect to you for grinding it out and not giving up 💪. We competed in the 3.5 @nationalpickleball summer classic today that lasted 6 hours in the heat and we played 10 total matches, 7 games to 15, and somehow no byes 😮‍💨

To make it even tougher, Jon suffered a calf cramp in the 4th match, and the venue had no AC, so it was absolutely brutal out there. But through pure toughness, grit, and determination, we pushed through and secured our first-ever silver medals 🥈. Came up just short of gold… but honestly, silver never looked so good. Also want to give a big shoutout to all of our opponents today 👏 great matches yall!

The crazy part? The 3.0 and 4.0 brackets finished before us. It was just us and a bunch of familiar faces from The Picklr left grinding it out. Being able to hang out, catch up, and battle with my VAPA homies made the day even better.

Through it all, it was nothing but love and respect. We competed hard, had fun, and in the end, we all met at the same finish line.

Big shoutout to my wife and my baby girl for always supporting me, holding me down, and cheering me on every step of the way. None of this happens without you. ❤️

What a weekend! I secured another medal with my dawg @boknows.est88 and it was our first time squadding up. We were the #1 seed with a record of 6-1 and while we had our sights locked on that gold medal, we got out played by the only team to give us our first loss in pool play AND the semi finals. It was insane because we thought they would go all the way and take gold but instead they got beat by the team we whooped on in pool play so they got silver instead lol tournaments are so unpredictable sometimes haha. But yea, for our first time running it, our on court chemistry was on point and we stuck to our strategy which was effective for the most part. As a pickleball player, I actually took a lot away from this tourney compared to the last 2 because I found out what my flaws were and what I needed to work on as well as developing a better tactic when engaging in a steady dink battle. Anyways, big shoutout to our opponents for the dope matches and to my bro for battling with me & pulling up on me all the way from the 209 x much appreciated! Mannnn, what a weekend!! We struck gold and secured 1st place while being undefeated, winning 8 games in a row 🥇👏. Going into this tournament, we tried to prep ourselves the best we could given how our schedules would always conflict, but when we were able to link up, we would put in the work! From days of drilling, playing rec games, and just strategizing, to when I was out of commission because of my ankle injury which slowed our momentum down but as soon as I could walk again, we had a few days left to prepare.

All I gotta say is this wasn’t a walk in the park, and we both knew every match we had to fight for every point because, you know, when you’re playing in a tournament, ANYTHING can happen. We had some tough opponents and tough matches where we would be down 6-0 and really had to fight to come back and win.

Like I said, with grit, discipline, and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Best of all, we got to do it in front of our ladies ❤️‍🔥Shout out to my bro @pryanni for going to war with me; it was a pleasure fighting alongside you. A little appreciation post for my Ah Poh. ❤️🥹

My Ah Poh has been there for me since the day I was born. She helped raise me, took care of me, and loved me through every chapter of my life. Even when I got kicked out of home, she always gave me a place to stay, made sure I was fed, and cared for me without ever expecting anything in return. All she ever wanted was for me to have a good heart.

I could never repay her for everything she’s done for me. Out of everyone in this world, she’s the person I want to make proud the most. I’m so honored that at 103 years old, she’s still here to meet her great-grandkids and watch them grow. ❤️

Even though she couldn’t make it to my wedding, I’ll always cherish being able to do our tea ceremony in the comfort of her home. I know that moment meant something special, and deep down, I know my Ah Poh was proud of me. 🥹

Now that I live farther away, I cherish every chance I get to visit her. Seeing her smile, hugging her, kissing her, and telling her I love her are things I’ll never take for granted. She helped raise me into the man I am today, and I’ll forever be grateful that I get to give her that love back while she’s still here.

I love my Ah Poh so fucking much. ❤️

Shoutout to all the real grandparents holding it down for their families and showing us what genuine, unconditional love actually feels like. If you’re lucky enough to still have them here, hug them a little tighter and tell them you love them.
