It’s been a few months since the world’s biggest sporting event—the World Cup—came into our area. ⚽️

In August, The New York New Jersey (NYNJ) Host Committee announced that the 2026 FIFA World Cup had a total of $3.5 billion in economic impact on the New York and New Jersey region, which was two million more than the projected amount.

With over 600,000 people who attended the games in East Rutherford, how much of that impact did New Jersey feel compared to neighboring hosting cities like Philadelphia?

Read our latest article to learn more + what local businesses in Jersey City had to say. 🔗 Link in bio!

D’me “Lady D” Van De Mark doesn’t want people to have to move from Jersey City, but if it’s their best option, she understands.

We spoke with Van De Mark on the city’s 15.15% property tax increase and she called on the community to keep on speaking up and showing out.

🔗Read the FULL breakdown in the pinned article in the link in our bio where we:

🏢 Break down happened at the Aug. 26 special meeting where Jersey City City Council voted on the $866 million budget with the attached 15.15% property tax increase

➕ Provide a Hudson County tax calculator made by @branchfourorg that allows residents to choose their district, input their assessed property value and tax rates to give an idea of what their bill would look like

🗣️ Speak with three longtime Jersey City residents who talked about the city they once knew, what changed, how this will hurt and more

➡️ Follow the city’s money trail and take a look into Solomon’s administration including Senior Advisor Stuart Thomas and former communications director Nathaniel Styer

❤️‍🩹 List links and resources residents can use for home assistance

👀 Keep an eye out for videos on the rest of our resident interviews!

Jorge Stanley Parrales came to the U.S. from Ecuador with the goal of helping his sick son and supporting his family.

With very little, he was able to build up Stanley Promotions, a screen printing and embroidery business located in West New York. He dedicated his life to the small business, which connected him to many and provided a means to support his family.

The business and his family are what kept him going through his battle with Stage 4 cancer, a battle he sadly lost on Wednesday, May 27.

The legacy Jorge leaves behind is rooted in the values he lived by every day.

“Be humble and thankful to God,” shared his wife, Cecy Parrales, who believes those are the words he would want people to remember as part of his legacy.

Read more about Parrales’ life journey through our latest article. 🔗 Link in bio!
