One week ago we put Alicia on the stand. She did so well on the stand that I knew the jury was not going to convict her of the charged offenses. I told her all along that we would do our part to make sure that she had the opportunity to get on the stand and save her own life. I told her to make the most of that opportunity and then I would bring her home in closing. She changed people's hearts, and their minds and then I pulled all the strings together, in closing, to highlight how the State failed to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict could have been better. The verdict could have made more sense, and although we did not get a not guilty all the way around, the jury's decision to convict on the lesser offense of Manslaughter removed the very real possibility that Alicia would have to spend the rest of her life in prison.

We have a series of motions/appeals to file. The war is not over. We expect the jury's decision to be overturned and we hope Alicia will be able to come home soon to raise her baby and be with her family.

My brother and I decided to film an impromptu video of the work that I do on a daily basis. This video is a glimpse into what it means to be a criminal defense attorney. We work hard, we defend people, we keep human beings out of cages.

Again, Thank you to my brother @dal3mabry for recording, and producing this video! The live footage was shot over the course of 48 hours. All of the events in the video occurred over the course of one week with many events being left out.

I dropped Asilia at school this morning and the school resource officer asked me if I was getting out for Donuts with Dad day. I said what's that? The rest is history 😂 you learn something new everyday. by @sliickjay

First day of school! ✌🏾 6 months ago she didn't want to go to school, she has never gone to day care, pre-k, or been around strangers, alone. But as we got closer to her first day and she was able to get supplies and uniforms she couldnt wait to start school. This kid grew up so fast. 😭 by @sliickjay

This past weekend I had the opportunity to run in a community track meet with hundreds of other athletes who work and/or own businesses for their day jobs, but still have a love for track and field. I haven't competed in 12 years, and the difference now is that I have to do a very thorough warm up to avoid pulling and straining muscles lol. And even though I can feel it in my legs, I thought I was still young... until they told me there were 2 age groups under me (21-25 & 26-30) 😩
