An adventure of epic (not used lightly) proportions...quad to lancha to microbus to taxi to ridiculous immigration crossing to taxi, from the Caribbean to the Pacific, landing in a dream...

I'm still processing Pavones, difficult to explain just how special a spot it is. One of the most amazing locales I've ever had the pleasure of checking out. The wave itself is a freak of nature. In before dawn to fight the current and play chess with the soon descending masses. Fortunate enough to have scored nearly a dozen "walk back" rides. Unbelievable head high walls that just keep growing and curving and throwing until sense of time is warped and your legs are burning from lactic build up and you're kicking out where the fishing boats haul out.

Incredible jungle, horses everywhere, trees raining the sweetest mangoes, clean rivers...difficult to access...not easy to surf (well). Grateful to have scored it with legit long period South swell, humbled to witness locals absolutely surfing out of their minds. From the middle peak to the fishing boats, akin to taking mind expanding drugs or having sex for the first time, my reality will never be the same.

Gracias Pavones. Magical.
