When a child loses a parent, the world can suddenly feel a lot smaller. It truly takes a village, one made up of people who show up, listen, and care deeply.

We’re launching a new campaign, It Takes a Village, to celebrate the remarkable people at Empower. In the coming weeks, you’ll hear stories of resilience, connection, and courage from across our community.

As one dad shared, “More than anything, it’s given her hope. And I don’t know how you ever repay anybody for giving your kids hope.”

As we enter into Mother’s Day weekend, I’m reminiscing on LUMINARIAS past, and this one will always be my favorite. It was pouring down rain in Pittsburgh, but I was surrounded by my besties on Mother’s Day after they spent months volunteering their time to spread the @weareempower_ mission, and we had the best time❤️ Because at the end of the day, it’s about showing up and being there. LUMINARIA is a celebration, a tribute, and a beautiful way to honor the ones we love while supporting families who need it most.

✨ Today is #GivingTuesday, and I’m supporting Empower, a nonprofit close to my heart that supports, connects, and empowers children, teens, and young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent. As someone who lost my mom as a teenager, I know firsthand how isolating grief can feel—and I wish I’d had access to the community and mentorship Empower provides. 🧡
