When I watched the game today, I started thinking about Gotham. Not the nights when Batman had everything under control. I thought about the night Bane broke him..Bane did not just beat Batman physically.
..He studied him, exhausted him, attacked his mind, and waited until he was vulnerable. Then he broke his back and left him in a place where everybody believed Batman was finished!! And for a moment, Bruce probably questioned it himself..He was injured…Gotham was falling apart. The city he felt responsible for was suffering, and he could not save everybody. Every time he tried climbing out of that Pit, he fell. Again and again…But Batman’s story did not end inside that Pit!! Eventually, he climbed without the rope. No safety net. No guarantee that he would make it. Just faith, fear, purpose, and everything inside of him. He rose from that darkness, returned to Gotham, and reminded everybody why he was Batman.
That is what today made me think about with you, @kyo1k._ …Today may not have gone the way you wanted. You took some hits. You battled through adversity. You battled through injury. People are going to talk, question you, and act like one difficult night changed everything they witnessed before today.
Let them talk!! Every Batman story has a night when Gotham believes the hero is finished. But the darkness is never where Batman’s story ends. That is where the next version of him is built…Sometimes the greatest chapter begins after the night that tried to break you…Chest out. Head up!! Turn up!! This fight will continue, and this train will continue to move. We are just getting started. As somebody who has had the privilege of training you, as somebody from back home, and as a fellow Mississippi State Bulldog, I am proud of you. send some love your way.
Heal up!! Rise up!! Gotham will still be there when Batman returns.
I love you, bro. See you soon. by @slpathlete
