AI 🚫 Disclaimer Unfortunately, it turns out to be necessary to write a message here for people who think I use AI. For the sake of clarity. I have been taking Second Life photos since 2006, and I learned it the old, hard way, back then, when our avatars were still full of imperfections and glitches. I still work on a green screen, after which I can easily cut it out later in Photoshop and am free to edit in any way... old school. I learned to edit in Photoshop, draw hair, work with layers, and polish, without changing the avatar. Unfortunately, it still happens regularly that I get rejected or judged and criticized for the use of AI. Of course, I sometimes play around with AI for funny videos or nice layouts, memes, etc. But for my blog work, I will never, ever use AI on my avatar or the objects I wear or use. Because I find it incredibly important to showcase the articles I blog about exactly as they look inworld. I DO use AI for backgrounds regularly, but even the backgrounds you buy inworld are often made with AI, so where is the line drawn? I think for the future, it is inevitable that some form of AI will be present in your work somewhere. Not for us photographers, and not for designers either. Because AI will simply infiltrate everywhere; it is seeping in bit by bit. Editing programs, as well as Photoshop, already have AI built in. It makes me a bit sad that I constantly have to defend myself and prove that I create my work myself. That I work on it for many hours and with a great deal of love and pleasure, and certainly not with a simple push of an AI prompt. It is also discouraging. I think this is the case for many other SL artists as well. Yesterday I was rejected again for a brand that I would have loved to blog about and especially vlog about. But the reason was that my use of AI would be confusing... Apparently, I now have to save all my work in PSD files to be able to prove that I really do make it myself. Dear people, creators, blog managers, etc... it really does still exist that people know how to work in Photoshop themselves... and that good-looking photos or heavily edited and hand-drawn photos really aren't always AI...
