A sense of longing and reverie runs through Arno Selle’s works. Individual fragments from fairy tales, childhood memories, and modern myths come together to form a tapestry of images, sculptures, and soundscapes. Here, artistic practice serves as a playing field between childlike impulsiveness and ceaseless self-reflection.

The focus is on dreams, the ego, the way we navigate our self-image in virtual space, and the positioning of nature and technology as independent actors. Questions arise without pointing to an answer. This often results in a struggle with power dynamics and a play with open-ended narratives. The characters found in the works are characterized by dysfunctions that turn the inner workings of the systems in which they operate inside out.

Introducing 🌱 @selmakan.art

Selma Kan born 1995 in Hamburg, explores the shapes of plants and atmospheres in large scale paintings. Central to her practice is the interaction and tension between representation and abstraction, form and surrounding space, emergence and dissolution. Working on a large scale is integral to her gestural painting process. At the same time, enlarging the motif lends it a new physical presence, creating a different kind of encounter between the viewer and the painting.
Alongside recent exhibitions, including Galerie Jochen Hempel at Spinnerei Leipzig and ZAK Berlin, Selma is currently completing her Painting Diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB Leipzig) by @sluggg_________

Introducing 🌱 @anna__bochkova

Anna Bochova, a visual artist living and working in Hamburg. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture with distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and a second MFA from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg. Her artistic practice investigates how spaces emerge through relationships between sculptures, objects, and materials, enabling new narrative and emotional constellations.

Bochkova’s work often draws on myths, symbolism, and sensory experience to create open, ambiguous environments. Central to her practice is the question of how tenderness and care can function as resilient gestures in contexts shaped by hardship—whether in the prefabricated housing estates of her childhood or in speculative dystopian futures.

She frequently works with materials such as paper-mâché, ceramics, textiles, and metal, positioning fragility and resistance as interconnected forces. Her figures—often human-like yet uncanny—reflect experiences of migration, displacement, and transformation. Themes of care, community, feminism, and utopia recur throughout her work, with sculptures understood as mediators of emotional and collective encounters.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Eigen+Art Lab Berlin, Belvedere 21 Vienna, the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome, Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof Hamburg, Spazio Serra Milan, and Kunsthaus Wien. Bochkova is part of the curatorial-artistic collective TFR-Archive and, since 2022, a co-founder of ArtWorkshops.HH, supporting refugee children and teenagers through free art workshops. by @sluggg_________

Im Anschluss an die Lesung folgt ein moderierter Austauschraum.

Tabea Tbaasa ist Schreibende, Performerin, Tocher der Diaspora. Geboren zwischen Sprachen, verwurzelt in der Sehnsucht nach einem freien Palästina, aufgewachsen in Deutschland. Sie schreibt, um Brücken zu bauen, die Gerechtigkeit ertragen. Um Worte zu finden, die nicht zerstören, sondern befreien.

Lament Workshop

Through conversation and creative writing, we will create our own texts, working with the lament as a method for processing fear, anxiety and grief, and transforming them into visions for the future.

Whether we need to mourn things that have happened, or things we thought would happen, I would like to open a space to express and share grief in a “dialogue of mournings”, where mourning is transformed into a collective process, bringing more potential for collective support and action.

If agreed upon, the laments would then be gathered and arranged into a collective sound collage for a listening session at a later date.

Talisman Workshop

Talismans can take the form of small objects that can be carried in everyday life, such as fabric, folded paper with text, jewellery, or modifications to clothing and objects such as patches, embroidery or engraving.

What do we need to remind ourselves of to stay true to our values? What messages give us the courage to face the world and our struggles within it?

We will make talismans to protect and empower the wearer or holder through the intentions that are put into their creation.

Materials will be provided, but if you have specific ideas, or items you would like to modify, please bring them along!

Denise Lee (Hong Kong/USA) is an artist based in Leipzig. She uses interviews and creative writing to fuel her work in sound art, performance, intervention and short film.

With a background in public art, civic education and object making, Denise seeks to facilitate spaces for connection and reflection, often working with participation as a key element. Her current research deals with alienation and longing in postmodernity and diasporic storytelling.

@en______u and @jusnjjshh explore new worlds of sound together in their project @init.play___. Their introspective and abstract ambient album of the same name (2022) captures the essence of a shared, dusty summer through granular processing, field recordings, and dynamic, evolving meters. This time, they delve even deeper into synthesis, building complex textures and patterns that explore spatial and temporal configurations, transforming the everyday into something extraordinary and searching for meaning where there is supposedly none.

◐ ᑎIᑕ KᖇOG ◒
@nic_krog is a musician and sound artist whose signature is a volatile blend of bass-heavy clubmusic intertwined with subversive sound art and diaristic spoken word. Their work deals with themes of isolation, identity, and transformation. With the release of the audio play „Perfect Pattern“ (@psychicliberation, 2025), the artist focused in on a raw and self-aware kind of sonic self-portraiture, taking cues from 20th century experimental music, 90s queer house tracks, and the storytelling style of soap operas and Jean-Luc Godard’s „Le Mépris“, resulting in something all their own. Krog’s latest EP „Better Failing“ was released by the label Foul-Up.

◐ ᑭᒪᖴ ◒
@parzifooooooool has the tendency to push their individual sounds to a threshold where they boarder on the scream: an immediate unfiltered sonic expression, unmediated by logic, language or conventional harmonic structures.
With @kutin_____ performing on self-built light-feedback machines that drive an array of synths, @lukas________koenig weaving intense rhythmic patterns through his percussive-electronic craft, and @elvinbrandhi’s feral, visceral vocalizations.
Cutting through it all, PLF produces harsh music.
Their third album „SKREAMERZ“ was released at the end of December 2025 by @ventilrecords.

„L’apport“ („The contribution“) is a celebration-composition, a joyful pretext for reunion and experimentation by Cyril Bondi (vibraphone) and d’incise (electronics) as diatribes, inviting Clara Levy (violin).
The established score is intended as a tool, a working space, to collectively rewrite the music through the contribution of the guests, their technique, their aesthetic, and the proposal of a melodic material of their choice. Challenges, discomfort, and the disruption of established habits are used as levers to push the music into its most intriguing territory. With Clara Levy, the ghost of a Middle Ages Sephardic song will slip into the interstices of a stretched-out duration.

Sofi Mchedlishvili @sofimchedlishvilii works with material-driven processes involving watercolour, wax and linen. In her current practice, she explores the reciprocal relationship between the self and the material, focusing on traces that emerge through layering, chance and spontaneity. Material dynamics intertwine with biographical and psychological imprints that may surface or remain latent within the medium.

Eva Gräbeldinger @evagraebeldinger works in storytelling via diverse techniques and media, such as printmaking, sculpture, drawing, writing, comic. Their work in general is process based and plays with content and material parallels. Currently they explore togetherness of diverse entities and the inner and outer processes, mysteries, truths and possibilities which come along with it.
