ᑭᗩIᑎTIᑎG ᑭETᗩᒪᔕ Oᑎ ᑭᒪᗩᑎET GᕼOᔕTOpening 25th July 6pm Introducing 🌱 @anna__bochkova Anna Bochova, a visual artist living and working in Hamburg. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture with distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and a second MFA from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg. Her artistic practice investigates how spaces emerge through relationships between sculptures, objects, and materials, enabling new narrative and emotional constellations.Bochkova’s work often draws on myths, symbolism, and sensory experience to create open, ambiguous environments. Central to her practice is the question of how tenderness and care can function as resilient gestures in contexts shaped by hardship—whether in the prefabricated housing estates of her childhood or in speculative dystopian futures.She frequently works with materials such as paper-mâché, ceramics, textiles, and metal, positioning fragility and resistance as interconnected forces. Her figures—often human-like yet uncanny—reflect experiences of migration, displacement, and transformation. Themes of care, community, feminism, and utopia recur throughout her work, with sculptures understood as mediators of emotional and collective encounters.Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Eigen+Art Lab Berlin, Belvedere 21 Vienna, the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome, Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof Hamburg, Spazio Serra Milan, and Kunsthaus Wien. Bochkova is part of the curatorial-artistic collective TFR-Archive and, since 2022, a co-founder of ArtWorkshops.HH, supporting refugee children and teenagers through free art workshops. by @anna__bochkova

Mýtický bazén je zrcadlem pravdy, které nás vede k hlubokým kořenům našeho bytí. Setkáme se zde s bytostmi připomínajícími hydry. Bájnými stvůrami, jejichž nezlomnost a regenerace představovaly nezkrotnou sílu, která se stávala smrtící. V přeneseném významu sami mnohdy čelíme nekonečnému boji s větrnými mlýny, které představují naše lidské problémy a strachy. Tento aspekt se mísí s lidskými gesty a pocity, které jednotlivé keramické postavy vyzařují. Jednou z možností je se na chvíli v našem životě zastavit a stát se pozorovatelem.The mythical basin is a mirror of truth, guiding us to the deep roots of our being. Here, we encounter creatures reminiscent of hydras. Mythical beasts whose resilience and regeneration represented an wild force that became fatal. In a figurative sense, we often face an endless struggle against windmills, which represent our human problems and fears. This aspect blends with the human gestures and emotions radiated by the individual ceramic figures. So, I do really enjoy the flow and at the same time I learn how to let the control go.”„Keramika je materiál, který mi prostě přináší radost. Zároveň mě ale učí vytrvalosti a odolnosti, protože ten proces má své úskalí a ne pokaždé se všechno povede. Takže si ten tvůrčí flow moc užívám a zároveň se učím, jak věci přestat tak moc kontrolovat a nechat je prostě plynout.“…DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MYTHICAL CREATURE THAT ACCOMPANIES YOU? | …MÁŠ NĚJAKÉ OBLÍBENÉ MÝTICKÉ STVOŘENÍ, KTERÉ TĚ DOPROVÁZÍ?“As I was a kid, I played often Baba Yaga in school plays, so I keep it simple: this is my favourite mythical creature. She is not just a witch in the woods but she is an ambiguous character which symbolizes an archaic wisdom and often she plays a role of a companion and advisor of a protagonist. I also love all characters who are shape shifters for example the Mistress of the copper mountain who transforms into a lizard.”Jako malá jsem ve školních hrách často hrála Babu Jagu, takže to vezmu zkrátka: právě ona je mým nejoblíbenějším mýtickým stvořením. Není to totiž jen obyčejná ježibaba z lesa, ale nejednoznačná postava, která symbolizuje archaickou moudrost a v příbězích často funguje jako průvodkyně nebo rádkyně hlavního hrdiny.
