The preventative health platform secured $450M in non-dilutive financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund to accelerate customer acquisition.

Function Health has expanded beyond blood testing into a vertically integrated health platform — pairing 160-panel labs with @getlabs’ at-home draws, @ezrainc’s full-body MRIs, and @joinsuppco’s supplement intelligence.

Alongside integrations with ChatGPT Health, Claude, and Copilot, Function is developing Medical Intelligence Labs, its AI-powered health copilot designed to turn diagnostics into personalized recommendations.

Having completed 100M+ lab tests for 500K US members, Function will use General Catalyst’s customer acquisition model to scale faster, advancing CEO @jonathanswerdlin’s vision of making preventative health accessible to billions.

Using diagnostics as a wedge to capture data, Function is building an AI-powered feedback loop that turns health insights into personalized action.

In short, everything @smart has touched and created has turned to gold, from Splice to Blade, GroupMe and his most recent, @joinsuppco . Steve’s brilliance along with INTEGRITY in his motive and premise is clearly seen in his messaging and business creations. Steve stresses his mission the entire podcast on changing the supplement world, which is filled with bad actors, misleading marketing, skewed studies, fraudulent product sales and inflated prices that are taking advantage of people financially along with health and safety. The reasoning behind SuppCo was to bring transparency to every consumer and put TRUST back into the minds of everyone. We touch on the current state of the supplement industry and the changes he has been able to make in a short period of time. This leads us to a discussion on peptides, sarms and research chemicals and the effect they have had on the supplement world. We then discuss the importance of education in what we are putting into our bodies, along with knowing the integrity of companies we are buying from. This takes us to utilizing technology in health management, making it easy to understand yet comprehensive to cover all the bases. Steve discusses new innovations being developed and his vision on the future of supplements. We then switched courses and talked about our own health challenges, which drove us both to do everything we can to make a difference for others. BIG NEWS: SuppCo (@joinsuppco) has been acquired by Function!

Today we’re announcing that SuppCo has been acquired by Function. I’m personally extremely excited by this as it’s the opportunity to play on the largest stage in pursuit of a single, fully aligned full-stack mission: helping you live 100 healthy years.

For many of my friends and family, their Function results have become the cornerstone of their health, and they are ready to take more action. Preventative medicine and AI are ushering in a new era, and I believe our combined team can play a massive role in shaping it. When I first showed SuppCo to my friend @drmarkhyman , he said “I’ve wanted this for 30 years.” That reaction has stayed with me. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re building together.

Now, with Function, we are going to build something that’s never been built before: a clear line from your biology to your supplement stack. The SuppCo team and myself will remain dedicated to our mission of helping make supplements work for you. Additionally, I will be joining Function’s board as an observer to help steer the future of our shared mission.

The deal adds supplement intelligence to Function’s growing platform spanning diagnostics, imaging, and AI-guided health insights — expanding its push toward a closed-loop preventive health system.

SuppCo’s platform helps users organize supplement routines, verify product quality, and personalize recommendations across 35K+ products and 500K+ supplement stacks.

As preventive health platforms evolve beyond testing alone, Function is betting consumers want continuous guidance connecting biomarkers, daily inputs, and long-term health outcomes.

Last night I had the honor of being a co-host for @dividedskyfoundation / @treyanastasio comedy fundraiser. I was asked to say a few words during the VIP reception. It was at @thelargoofficial , one of the iconic comedy venues in LA, so why not… make it funny?

We had about 60 people in the room at this time, little did I know Trey would be watching in the wings.

It was an honor of a lifetime to perform for the man who’s performed for me hundreds of times over three decades of my life. It was a little bit toast, a little bit roast and some self deprecated humor that many of us @phish fans can relate to. Hearing him laughing and saying “That’s true” to some of my stories of Phish lore, will never be forgotten.

Unlike most of Phish history there’s no audio, no video, just an ephemeral dream. I’ve included the speech in the comments below.

As for my tour dates, there are none. I think I’ll call ‘opening’ for @treyanastasio @marcmaron @sarahkatesilverman and @johnmulaney a career and go out happy. #)

One of my deepest passions is experience design, helping people create moments that help them to connect in real, meaningful ways.

Over the holiday break, I had the opportunity to do something really special for two of my closest friends, and I wanted to share it here in case you ever want to create something similar for people you care about. It is called a Love Ceremony.

@smart and @kellylmonroe were down in Costa Rica with a large group of us over new years. The past year had asked a lot of them. Losing their home in a fire. Raising a baby. Building new businesses. Life was full, intense, and beautiful, but also demanding. They did not have the bandwidth for a traditional wedding, and that was not actually what they wanted.

What they wanted was to be witnessed by their community. To have their love seen, felt, and celebrated. To mark this chapter of their lives in a way that felt embodied and real as they continue to build their family together.

So they decided to host a Love Ceremony and invited me to help them craft it. A non-wedding, community celebration. A simple, powerful way to commemorate and solidify their union with each other, held by the people who love them.

Below is exactly how we did it, shared as both a story and a guide.

This format can be used as a standalone ceremony like theirs, or woven into a traditional wedding if you want to deepen the experience beyond the usual structure.
