Is your NRIC number enough to prove who you are?

Your NRIC number tells you apart from others accurately. But only your physical NRIC or digital IC, with security features like your matching photograph, proves it is really you.

Earlier this year, @singaporemddi refreshed our partnership with @Google to explore how we can harness frontier AI for the public good. 🚀

@Google Cloud’s recently launched Singapore Engineering Center will build capabilities in areas like multilingual and agentic AI, cloud and data infrastructure. In its first phase, it has hired over 85 specialists in less than six months, reflecting the strength of Singapore’s talent pool. 💡

Through @imdasg ‘s TIP (TechSkills Accelerator for ITE and Polytechnics) Alliance PLUS, Google contributes to building capabilities in our fresh graduates. 🎓

Such moves add to our growing AI ecosystem, giving our people the opportunity to build deep expertise, and strengthening Singapore’s position as a global innovation hub. 🇸🇬

As quantum computing advances, quantum-safe solutions are critical to strengthen cybersecurity. 🛡️

At Digital@UNGA 2026, Singapore’s National Quantum-Safe Network (NQSN) testbed emerged as one of four runner-ups for the Digital Frontiers award, placing Singapore on the global map for quantum-safe communications! 🇸🇬

It was the only quantum tech project among 15 finalists, shortlisted from 1,500 submissions from 146 countries. 🌐

With access to over 1,500 km of deployed telecom fibre across Singapore, the NQSN team at @quantumlah, @nus_singapore and @ntu_sg is working with over 30 organisations to trial quantum-safe technologies.

This includes post-quantum cryptography, designed to resist attacks by quantum computers. The NQSN network has also demonstrated applications such as using quantum key distribution, which builds security from the quantum properties of light, to secure data transfers between data centres and cloud computing infrastructure.

Part of Singapore’s National Quantum Strategy, the network is supported by the National Quantum Office, @imdasg and NetLink Trust.

Kudos to the NQSN team for your dedication in harnessing quantum technologies for good! ✨

Received a call or SMS asking you to transfer money? Over the phone, Government officials will never ask you to transfer money or disclose your bank login details.

Remember: all Government SMSes are sent from gov.sg, and don’t trust a caller just because they can cite your NRIC number.

If in doubt, call the agency’s hotline or the ScamShield helpline at 1799.
