The Fold - Fall 2025
A pre-engineered metal building serving as a botanical garden in downtown Oklahoma City. I learned a lot about metal buildings and interacting with existing surrounding context. I’m proud of how this project turned out and had a lot of fun making artistic renderings! by @smeagher.arch

I had the privilege of conducting my own research in the neighborhood of NEOKC near Page Woodson for my spring semester project. From interviewing candidate Camal Pennington to owner of a nonprofit produce garden LaTasha Timberlake, I was able to learn about the neighborhood first hand.

After the Urban Renewal Plan in the 60s, NEOKC experienced the disappearance of small business and local grocery stores. This created food apartheid within the community. There was only access to unhealthy nutrition rather than access to fresh local produce.

From studying the open plots in the area I learned that with the implementation of small self sustaining produce gardens, pollinator networks, and a water filtration structure we could revitalize the neighborhood. I designed a water structure that filters rain and gray water and is built with local brick and cedar, that can be decommissioned and used for new developments.

Here are a couple of snapshots from my final presentation! I’m very proud of all the hard work and time that went into this project. Enjoy!!!

Final project for semester 6!

THE SHIFT//We were tasked with creating a community center in the heart of the Matattoio community. We learned a lot about grafting this semester and were inspired by multiple projects when designing this proposal. Ellie and I decided to inhabit a preexisting building in the site and then graft on top of the structure creating a mixture between the past and present. We were inspired by the reading “The Garden of Forking Paths” by Luis Borges when coming up with the design on the park and riverfront areas. The paths can lead you to different perspective of the site, letting the viewer choose their pathway. Getting to work with my best friend was so rewarding and I feel so grateful getting to learn so much in such an enriching place while being surrounded by so many inspiring people! I will never forget this experience and I will walk away from this semester with different views on architecture that I believe will push me further in my upcoming years!

The place vs. the sketch.
Fun series that I want to start! This was at the Villa Farnesina! The spaces were painted to give it a 3d feeling when it reality it was a series of flat walls. taken in Villa Farnesina by @smeagher.arch

Final Project for Design V: Lake Thunderbird Boathouse

This project was so fun! I learned a lot about site grading and how to interact with land and water! The building features a slanting butterfly roof and switchback pathway that braids down the landform. Integrated with planters and a rain garden. taken in The University of Oklahoma by @smeagher.arch
