been in the thick of it over here lately. teething, milk supply dips, sleepless nights, restless days. brushing my hair and showers feel like a luxury atm.
~
i read somewhere that If you’re home with your kids all day, you can’t possibly be all three of these:
fun and present
productive
relaxed and recharged
just pick one for the day and roll with it. been rolling with “present” - working on the “fun” 🤪

i’ve been so busy getting ready for our lil golfers par 3 partee ⛳️ that i haven’t stopped for a moment in reflection. it’s been 3 years with the guy who made us parents and brightened our world with new colors.

evan, you are curious, playful, and strong - mind, body and soul. you lead with tough, but your heart is tender. you are an incredible athlete. you love big and hard, and you go allll innn. i watch how people are drawn to you, and simultaneously intimidated. you are a presence - a force. you are brave. you are love and you are loved. keep being you my baby. there’s no other like you. 🌈

i am always reminded that i am right where i am supposed to be. swipe 👈 for a lil recap of my last 4 months in no particular order

i took a big step back from dancing, directing, business in general, and this app. and i took a big leap into my family, my home and the simplicity of life.

this postpartum season has lasted much longer than my first one, and im truly trying to find out who i am today, instead of holding onto versions of me from the past. what brings serese joy today? that’s a question i continue to return to. and while i’m not sure what the next layers of me will have in store, my soul misses connection.

this page will change (and might go dead for a il while) and i’ll be building up our @smithandbrownfam page. i’d love to connect with you there about all things parenting realness and the beautiful chaos that is raising two boys.

@sassnstrut will continue to evolve as @figgie_puddin and i find the magic moments to teach and lead and produce. i cannot wait to see who’s joining me for class next month.

our little leon, we are all so in love with you. thank you for choosing us. your gentle and patient nature is already so powerful, and feels like just the right balance our family needs. i love you. we love you.

in tender times like these we know we are only as strong as the village and community that surrounds us. so many of you have already reached out to ask how we can be supported. 🫶 we welcome your support with open arms. 🫂 at the link in my bio i’ve added some forms of support that would be huge right now. in addition to those we welcome playdates with evan, house visits to relieve my hands of the daily SAHM juggle - and soon to be nighttime juggle with 2 under 3. beyond this newborn bubble, your loving hand-me downs and continued words of affirmation will *always* be welcomed.

“this is important!”

i read somewhere recently that when parenting moments feel really challenging, to remind yourself “this is important!” it stuck with me as a motto for not only parenting, but all the trying moments in life.
.
as i near the end of growing my second bebe in my womb, i’ve really had to ask myself “who and what are important, right now?” not, “could this be important?” or “was this important to me?” because the past no longer serves me. the future is out of my control. i am in the here and now, and in this moment what is most important is being the safest place for my family to fall into.
.
they are my home, and i am theirs. THIS is important!

this morning i felt your movement for the first time and i didn’t know how much i had missed that feeling. that connection. we’re so excited to have you complete our fam 🫶♥️

New Parenting Hack > Car dates 🚘 🍜 🥂

We were super inspired by how @stirandstyle and @dantransform’m have #cardates with their @theqttwins and fueled by cravings of @ramen512 (thanks to @austinfoodadventures 😋) and let’s be honest - we’re trying to find moments of hubs & wifey quality time between all the new parenting duties.
.
Evan loves car rides, so we’ve been strapping him up in his car seat during nap times to get out and enjoy doing some of our favorite things, or just run errands together as a couple / family.
.
Highly recommend ordering some yummy take-out, parking the car, and enjoying dinner *out* — even if the news is on the entire time 🤪 lol
